Causes: Arts & Culture, Cultural & Ethnic Awareness
Mission: Preservation, development, education, and promotion of the comanche language and culture by providing comanche people of all ages the opportunity to be able to speak, write, and understand the comanche language so the culture might live on.
Programs: Distributed, free of charge to community members, comanche language learning materials such as dictionaries, song books, calendars, and other comanche theme items to further the educational process and preservation of the comanche language.
participated in the comanche nation fair and several community meetings to provide forums to bring the community together for goals in comanche language preservation. Provides 3 dvd's covering the comanche sounds and spelling system to train and assist memebers so they can become accustomed to the sounds and writings of the comanche language. Developmental programs for the creating of computer cd's for adults and dvd's for children to further expand the educational process capabilities of the organization. Worked with surrounding comanche programs as a liaison to provide materials and resources for the furtherance of the comanche language and culture. Distributes quarterly newsletters to inform people of current developments and activities as well as provide stories and other related information relating to the comanche history and culture. In addition to the programs noted the committee conducts ongoing research and communication with elders to continually document, record, and preserve the comanche language and culture.
