Mission: The columbus regional health foundation, inc. (the "foundation") is a public, non-for-profit foundation established to promote philanthropic support of columbus regional health and its not for profit affiliates. The mission of the columbus regional health foundation is to raise philanthropic funds to enhance the health and healing of patients served by columbus regional health. The foundation is administered by a president who reports to the ceo of columbus regional health and governed by a separate board of directors. The foundation board provides strategic direction for the foundation as well as the stewardship of funds raised through the foundation's annual, special and major gift programs.
Programs: The columbus regional health foundation solicits support for multiple areas in the medical center, inc. Including the activities of the john b. Amos cancer center, breast cancer programs, the high risk nursery fund, the development of a women's and children's center, pediatrics, family practice development, nurse education and employee support programs.
the annual gifts officer of the foundation is responsible for all annual fundraising activities (excluding special events) which include but are not limited to the children's miracle network programs (a national fundraising), annual direct mail appeals, employee giving campaign and third part community activities. During fiscal year 2014, two of the major children's miracle network fund-raising events were the reindeer run and scott's ride for miracles. These events raised approximately $225,598 to help provide specialized services and equipment for pediatric programs at the medical center. Other fund-raising events also were hosted by the foundation to support the children's miracle network at the medical center. Total support provided to the children's miracle network programs was $861,263.
in 2010, the foundation launched a capital campaign for the children's hospital with a $15 million dollar goal for the renovation and expansion of the children's hospital. To date, the foundation has realized more than $10. 2 million in gifts and pledges toward its goal. The campaign committee is made u pof volunteers who are actively seeking major gifts and pledges to support the campaign.
the foundation also raises funds through signature special events. Currently, these events include: the celebrity classic (to benefit the john b. Amos cancer center); the breast cancer awareness luncheon (to benefit the crh breast care center); and, bluegrass for babies) to benefit the children's hospital capital campaign). All of these events combined grossed more than $500,000 in 2014.
