Mission: Columbia Springs provides environmental education to students, residents, and community groups in Southwest Washington and the Portland Metro area. The Center was formed in 1997 by a partnership between Clark Public Utilities and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Later other partners were added; they are the Evergreen School District, Clark College, and the City of Vancouver. The Center includes almost 100 acres of wetlands, meadows, and woods, located around the historic Vancouver Trout Hatchery.
Programs: Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center serves thousands of students, from kindergarten through college, each year. Also, scouts, home school groups, service learning teams, and community groups use the Center as a resource and field trip destination. Summer day camps are offered each year. Anyone can visit the center any day to watch birds, hike on the trails, or see the trout.
