Programs: Columbia gorge earth center focuses on education and providing support to assist individuals with making sustainable choices in energy, waste, food and local business. The mission is to strengthen the link between ecology, economy and community in the columbia gorge. Specific 2014-2015 achievements: 1 - presented a " sense of place" lecture series with over 800 attendees and support from 8 financial sponsors. 2 - continued a partnership with community pride, a klickitat county wide clean-up event that diverted over 800 yards of materials from the landfill. 872 volunteer hours contributed by over 90 volunteers. 3 - provided community outreach support to promote clean energy works oregon energy efficiency retrofit program. 6 homeowners signed up for energy audits as a result of the outreach. 4 - expanded go local challenge to promote local shopping with independent businesses, with over 124 participants. 5 - piloted an intensive marketing campaign called go solar to promote solar installation to homeowners throughout the gorge. Over 60 people signed up, and over 20 solar projects in process or completed. 6 - became a trustee orginzation of kiva zip, non-profit micro-lending organization, in order to facilitate better access to capital for local businesses. 7 - expanded the board of directors to 9 members to enhance geographic, economic, and age diversity,
