Mission: Ccua works to enhance our community's health by connecting people to agriculture and the land through hands-on learning opportunities from seed to plate.
Programs: The plants program in 2017 got 8,549 students representing 202 groups involved in food-focused learning experiences. These hands-on activities encourage nutritious diets with fun cooking and gardening lessons.
the opportunity gardens program provides a raised bed garden, gardening materials and three years of mentoring to low-income families at their home. In 2017, the program served 94 families.
the garden pro service assists homeowners and businesses by: starting new gardens; maintaining gardens; and mentoring gardeners. Ccua staff are hired to consult, install, maintain, and mentor clients at their site. In 2017, we helped 48 families, businesses, and agencies in their yards.
