Mission: TV news is the main information source for the majority of citizens and sets the agenda for social change and action in our communities. Unfortunately, the local TV news industry has abandoned meaningful discussion of violence, the environment, education, homelessness and other vital issues in its pursuit of commercially profitable "infotainment". The result is that all of our struggles for social and environmental justice suffer. Rocky Mountain Media Watch was founded in 1994 to challenge the news industry to connect our communities with the issues of concern to us. Through a combination of news content analysis, information campaigns and direct action, RMMW works steadily toward better new for a stronger democracy.
