Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Health, Reproductive Health Care, Reproductive Rights
Mission: To serve as a sisterhood of latinas, dedicated to building a movement of latinas, their families and allies through leadership development, organizing and advocacy to create opportunity and achieve reproductive justice.
Programs: Education: presented to community members on issues related to reproductive health, rights, and justice; served students through our program, latinas of vision, which uses sexuality education, political education, leadership development and community organizing as strategies to reduce unintended pregnancies; provided technical assistance support to allied organizations.
outreach & organizing: engaged young latinas in the latinas increasing political strength program. This program works to engage young latinas in leadership development and the policy processes that affect them. Additionally, young latinas participated in a 1 in 3 youth council program.
public policy: advocated on behalf of policy to increase reproductive justice in the state of colorado; partnered with the colorado latino leadership advocacy and research organization to engage latinos to attend latina/o advocacy day and become informed on policy that affects their every day lives; engaged thousands of community members to be active in the state legislative process by increasing civic engagement participation.
