I am a volunteer, but my relationship started as a client served. I've adopted two dogs from this rescue over the years and will be adopting a third soon. One of the dogs is special needs and she has been such a joy to us. Jean is one of a handful of people that I've known in my life to be well respected by breeders as well as other rescues. She is a straight shooter who has an uncanny way of matching dogs with their new homes, and she can size up an incoming dog with extraordinary accuracy. Her life is devoted to the dogs in every way. She's extremely knowledgeable about canine behavior, and has been the voice of reason for me on more than one occasion. I'm grateful to be able to assist this rescue and hope to be part for years to come.

I adopted a Collie mix girl from Collie Rescue of the Carolinas after my two best friend dogs passed of old age. I definitely wanted a rescue and found the Collie rescue to be absolutely wonderful in allowing me to adopt my pup. The volunteers are wonderful and the person running the rescue very much cares about the Collies and tries to match them to the best fit home. The adoption process was painless and well-planned.
Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a Collie rescue dog!
Do not recommend if you are looking to adopt a dog from an honest and ethical rescue. At least one of their volunteers tries to purchase well bred dogs from Breeders under false pretenses and turns around and takes them to this rescue to resell to people as rescues, which they are not.
When the person who runs this rescue is contacted about this issue by the Breeder of the dog, she denies the dog is coming to her rescue, says she knows nothing about it and is not getting the dog in. But 10 days later the dog in question is adopted out by this rescue. All lies. Very unethical. Do not donate money to them. All written conversations between this volunteer and the Breeder as well as as the rescue and Breeder has been posted publicly for anyone to read. Any ethical rescue would not keep a dog from its Breeder when it was never supposed to end up in rescue. Retail rescue at its finest.
The best overall non-profit I have been involved with in 30 years of volunteering. Unbeatable commitment to clients (both two- and four-legged!). Excellent fiscal management. Lots of common sense. Loads of fun. Nothing fancy, just well-done. Your dollars and time will be well utilized.
