I'm currently serving in my second year as an AmeriCorps member with College Possible. Not everything about the organization is perfect--in fact, there's a short list of things I know that get me very riled up--but CP really is making a lot of good things happen for a lot of people, and when I get home at night I know that the work I'm doing is making a difference. I will also say that I have been pleasantly surprised to see how the organization has changed since I started last fall. No, it's not perfect, but through the diligent prodding of staff and corps members, self-examination and change is happening. Most coaches will tell you that their students are what make everything worth it to them. For myself, the best part of serving with College Possible has been working alongside so many young corps members who are knowledgeable and engaged with the issues facing the nation/community and equally willing to put in the hard work to push things in the right direction.

When I graduated from college, I didn't know what I was going to do next. I happened upon College Possible from a recommendation from a stranger, and landed a position. I had no idea that I was going to be serving with such a supportive and caring organization. I was worried about getting into the professional world with little experience as a recent college grad, but College Possible was such a smooth transition. I am so happy to be doing such meaningful and impactful work alongside amazing people.

As a low-income, first-generation college student, I was looking to serve with an organization that effectively serves other low-income, first-generation students and I’ve found one with College Possible. This is my second year serving with College Possible because I believe the people-oriented and data-focused approach works. College Possible is a unique college access and success program because the organization supports low-income, first-generation students in getting into college, through college, and on a systematic level. Aside from the work that high school coaches and college coaches do with students, members of College Possible also advocate on issues like FAFSA verification reform. I’m so thankful to be a part of an organization that serves low-income students get access to, and succeed, in college.

It's a privilege to serve with an organization that supports students with idealism, empathy, and strategy. In addition to always being mindful of the daily challenges, successes, and vulnerabilities that first-generation college students face as individuals, College Possible also takes care to craft data-driven strategy that will support the long-term mission of disrupting generational poverty through providing quality programming to more and more students each year.

I'm consistently impressed with the enthusiasm and focus with which College Possible approaches its mission. Every action, from its hiring practices to its expansion strategy, is measured by how it would benefit students. It has been a joy to serve with College Possible for the last year and I look forward to upcoming opportunities!

This is my second year serving at College Possible, and it has been an incredible experience. CP takes a data-focused approach to solving huge issues in education and poverty, and our results are easy to see. Working with students has been the most stressful and rewarding experience, and I knew I had to come back to ensure that CP's work continued. Serving with CP has changed my career path and showed me that I have the ability to make the change I want to see in the world.

As a student who went through the program and now currently serve as an AmeriCorps member, I cannot say enough how much College Possible changed my life. Not just changed it, but ensured that it is better than what it would have been without College Possible. I've been a part of this organization for almost eight years now and while it isn't perfect, there is no other like it. From the support of one-on-one coaching in high school to tech-connected coaching in college, I was able to study abroad, graduate from college, and now as an AmeriCorps member, I am able to begin my career in philanthropy. This path I've taken with the support of College Possible changed not only my life, but the lives of my friends and family. And I see now that College Possible continues to change my community.

I am on my second term of service with College Possible as an AmeriCorps member. I heard about College Possible as a junior in college and knew immediately that I wanted to serve with them once I graduated. I appreciate how much the organization requests and utilizes feedback from Corps members to make improvements to programming. I feel welcomed and empowered serving here.

This is my second year serving with College Possible and for many reasons, I chose to apply for a second term of service. Working with my high school seniors in a high school last year was transformational for me. I learned so much, stretched my limits time and time again, and realized how important it was to empower the individual voices that College Possible works to elevate through our powerful coaching and curriculum model. This year, I am working in an indirect service capacity as a research and development VISTA for College Possible's newest capacity building college program, Catalyze. I highly recommend doing a year of service it with College Possible if you are able. College Possible works very deliberately to be transparent, honest, and mission orientated in its work, and they have taught me to continue being true to myself and be passionate in everything I do. *pictured is myself and several of my students at our end of the year celebration.

This is my first year with College Possible and it has already been an amazing experience. The staff are truly the most idealistic and supportive people I could have asked for to assist as I work with students at my schools. I know that I can come to them with anything, big or little, and they will do whatever was necessary to answer questions or solve problems. I am so lucky to work with an organization that achieves such amazing results and believes so strongly in their students and AmeriCorps members. I am excited to finish this year even though I know that it will be difficult at times because I know that I have the support from this organization to make a difference with my students.

This is my second year serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member at College Possible. There are many reasons why I decided to return to serve with College Possible but the most important to me is that our work reaps great results. The experience I've been gaining working for this organization is very valuable and meaningful to me. I can only hope that many other people acknowledge how great this organization is and dedicate a year of their lives to keep achieving industry-leading results.

College Possible not only has a great mission but it also has a passionate and talented team. Being involved with this organization has been very satisfying. As a first generation student, I have been through some of the challenges that most low-income students face when trying to go to college. Looking back to my high school experience, it would have been so much more rewarding if I had the opportunity to be a College Possible student. The students that College Possible takes in are amazing people and have great potential as professionals. I'm glad that there are people so invested in the futures of children today. I highly recommend getting involved with this organization.

This is my first year serving with College Possible as a College Coach and I absolutely love it! Everything they stand for and model themselves after is fantastic. They truly care about their students and want to do everything possible to assist capable low-income students in reaching and achieving their dreams and goals of obtaining a 4-year college degree.

I love being a part of this team and look forward to being involved with the organization in any way, shape, or form for many years to come! They are a great community organization that is truly making a difference in the lives of their students (and the Metro Area community!) by providing support and resources to students in high school and beyond.

I have been serving with College Possible for over a year, and I am impressed by the commitment to excellence that the organization expects from the every single person involved with the program. Not only does the organization have really well thought out and sincere intentions, but College Possible also demands actual results. College Possible's focus on efficacy means more students from low income backgrounds are going to college. That means more opportunities for generational cycles of poverty to be broken, communities to be strengthened by their college educated sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, cousins, neighbors, teammates. That is unique, and extremely needed in the United States.

This is only my first service-year as an Americorps Member (2014) and thus my first with College Possible. Everything I love about this program comes from my students and coworkers. It's incredible how well my students and I know each other in the few weeks we've been together after school. It's comforting how open they are to sharing and letting us into their lives. The students in this program are a real inspiration. It's also amazing to find coworkers who share my passion for service. They're a whole new class of people for me that I connect with on a level that hadn't been matched before. I feel like a whole different person here. This organization has touched my life, opened my eyes, and will create unbelievable opprtunities that I'll never forget.

This organization not only does so much for underrepresented communities, but the organization is so well-run. From their tried-and-true programming to their expansive development to their effervescent culture, they truly keep students in mind at ever step of the way. College Possible has shown me how great organizations are run.

I've talked to many of the students that have been in the College Possible program and the excitement that comes over their face when talking about their relationship with their coach is inspiring. These students deeply trust and care about their mentors, and College Possible brought them together to achieve the students educational goals. I've seen student who didn't know what the ACT was do well on it all because of College Possible. Students who didn't have a future after high school are applying to and getting into the college of their dreams. The work College Possible does is empowering youth who really need to be empowered. These students are going to go far and make big changes in the world. I am honored and grateful to be a part of such a powerful nonprofit.

Even though I have only been serving at College Possible for just a month, it is I can say, my favorite position I have ever held. From the incredible work ethic of all who serve to the variety and spice that College Possible encourages on a daily basis, coming to College Possible in the morning is something I am truly excited about. The work that College Possible does is so meaningful and playing apart in the process is such an honor.

Coming to College Possible has been the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Not only does it helps other people like high school and college students succeed in life but it is also helping me become someone that can make an opportunity happen. Being in a newly developed position, I can say that I am taking on the heavy responsibilities as an opening to my development as a young professional. I sincerely love the job that I have and I am grateful that my friend who is in college possible as a student told me about this program. GO COLLEGE POSSIBLE!

As soon as I learned about College Possible and the work that they do, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this program. One of my big goals in life is to help more minority students get to college and College Possible is helping me achieve that goal. Seeing students at the high school I work at just reaffirmed that my role as a Junior Coach is important ant that I am making positive change in the world!
