Mission: The college park city-university partnership is the nonprofit local development corporation jointly funded by the city of college park and the university of maryland. Our mission is to promote and support the economic welfare of college park and the university of maryland through activities including commercial revitalization, community development, and quality housing opportunities consistent with the interests of the city of college park and the university of maryland.
Programs: With our partners the city of college park and the university of maryland as well as prince george's county, the state of maryland, and the many stakeholders of residents, business owners, landowners, and more, we have continued to make great progress in recent years to transform college park as outlined in the university district vision 2020. This year the partnership's five strategy area committees supported initiatives such as the partnership's homeownership program, rain barrel events, an outdoor performance series, the opening of new retail stores and restaurants, a pilot safety ambassador program, a crime prevention through environmental design analysis of the trolley trail, and continued implementation of pedestrian and bicyclist safety infrastructure.
