I have seen CAPS bless so many pregnant ladies! From offering free ultrasounds and pregnancy tests, to providing compassionate counseling for women in all situations, CAPS has been a wonderful support to the communities that they serve. Patients leave the clinic feeling so grateful for the care, and also expressing gratitude for being in a non-judgmental environment.

I have absolutely loved volunteering at CAPS! The staff are kind and supportive, they have a great training program for volunteers- both for nurses, counselors, and receptionists- so that we are prepared to give our best, educated care to all clients who come through and receive care from the CAPS team. Our goal is to encourage and support every client that comes in, and I feel the team does a great job at working together - from the time they walk through the door and speak to the receptionist to the time they leave after seeing the counselor and nurse - to create an atmosphere that is open, non-judge mental, and supportive. I always leave CAPS lifted up and encouraged. It has been a blessing to me and I hope and believe it is a blessing for clients as well!

I walked into the Pacific Beach location and the staff were incredibly warm, friendly and inviting. Having an unintended pregnancy is so scary, so I really feel like they do a great job of educating people on all the options to consider and then the woman/couple can make their own choice; pressure/guilt-free. Also, they have awesome new-parenting classes, counseling, and even give new born packages to new moms who really need the help. Not to mention, their main role of giving free pregnancy testing, STD testing and ultrasounds is carried through with professionalism and with a professional medical staff. I love this organization.

As a volunteer in training I am so impressed with this ministry. They are a group of loving, caring people who place prayer as a top priority beginning every shift in prayer for everyone who will seek it's services as well as for each other. "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds..."Heb. 10:24. The staff, it's leaders and volunteers all work as a team to provide a professional clinic through extensive training, continuous education along with frequent communication. They work tirelessly to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment keeping in mind the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of everyone who walks through their doors. The greatest gift they offer is love.

My experience at CAPS as a volunteer has been amazing! The focus on each patient that comes through our door is how can we most effectively help this individual in a way that surpasses their expectation and that they leave with the knowledge that their is someone who truly cares about them and that their life matters.

Many people in San Diego do not know about this medically licensed clinic that offers free preganancy testing and counseling to anyone. In each of its three locations, the clinics are staffed by professional, licensed medical personnel and equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasounds. The clinics are spotless; the staff are friendly and welcoming to anyone. Parking is free at all locations. After my retirment from decades of nursing in local hospitals, I am honored to be a nurse volunteer with such a top notch facility.

College Area Pregnancy Services is providing vital help and encouragement to people who are feeling anxious about their situation or needing help financially and can't afford the medical help they need. We provide a friend and medical help. Sometimes a person just needs to talk to someone to have clarity on what to do or where to go next. For over 12 years now, we have been a presence in the community that people can count on. I am privileged to serve in a variety of capacities and enjoy my roles. We serve and in turn have purpose ourselves. I would highly recommend our services to anyone in need of them.

I have been on both sides with this nonprofit. I have received services as well as offered my time to serve women who need emergency counseling and ultrasounds for their unplanned pregnancies. Taps pregnancy services is a place that is welcoming, kind, and a great resource for women in need of a gentle helping hand and quick service.

I think one of the things I admire most about CAPS is their commitment to help young women regardless of background, belief, or stage in life. They truly desire to come alongside the women they serve. They also care about what happens to the young women after they leave. They really walk the talk, so to speak.

CAPS is an amazing organization, helping and empowering women from all walks of life. Each woman that comes into one of their offices is met with unconditional compassion and support. A great deal of time, effort and training is put into providing the best service possible for whatever situation a woman may find herself in. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible group of volunteers.

During the almost fourteen years I volunteered at CAPS as a Counselor I witnessed firsthand the impact this place has in every client that comes in. Women from all ages come burdened with fear, confusion and uncertainty. Volunteers and staff at CAPS are able to provide a safe, non-judgemental place for these women where they find not only help and resources, but also a caring and personal environment. A comment I most usually heard after a counseling appointment was "This place is so nice, I felt comfortable and welcomed here."
CAPS will be forever in my heart, and love to tell others about it.

As a weekly volunteer at CAPS, I get to see first hand the care and concern extended to clients who find their way to our center. Counselors, staff, and medical personnel are at once professional and compassionate to each woman seeking our services. Their are also counselors available for the men who's lives are impacted by the unplanned pregnancy of wife or girlfriend, also administered with genuine concern. CAPS is positively assisting women of San Diego, whether their need is counseling, resource referral or simply stability and kindness during uncertain circumstance.

I know first hand several women who have been helped by CAPS's service to pregnant women. Now years later these gals have grown into precious women who have appreciated CAPS in their time of need and their children are healthy happy children. As a board member/volunteer for CAPS since it's beginning I am proud of the work CAPS has done in our community and proud of their vision to expand and grow into other areas of our community hoping to reach out to others who need our service.

CAPs is a wonderful nonprofit. I have seen first hand how the free services the organization offers have benefited families in the community. Many of the patients that come to CAPS have no health care insurance and wouldn't be able to receive free vitamins, ultrasound, referrals, or health care education. It provides a professional health service to the San Diego community.

I know several volunteers who serve at CAPS on a weekly basis. These women are fully trained and they are spiritually equipped to help assist those who come through the doors concerning unplanned pregnancies. I have only heard of good experiences for all who seek their services and they feel valued and well cared for. It is wonderful that they have four locations in San Diego County. I do contribute financially because I believe in the work that they do for the unborn and their parents.

CAPS has some incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers who are truly passionate about loving each woman who walks in their doors. Every nurse and counselor I volunteer with is genuine in their commitment to the mission and I have learned so much from them about how to love our clients well. As a nurse myself it is so refreshing to have all the time we need with our clients and not feel rushed. The people who run CAPS are very caring people. I know the staff and some of the volunteers, and I would recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. The people at CAPS are ready to help that person think through options and to help in any way they can: providing medical services and baby items/clothes; answering questions; connecting with other helpful agencies; or simply lending a kind, listening ear. I am glad that they are planning to open another location soon, and I am thrilled to support them--it's a very deserving nonprofit!

I have been volunteering with CAPS for over a year now. I only have outstanding things to say about CAPS. The ministry here touches the hearts of so many women. I volunteer as a nurse, so I am able to educate women on their health and provide medical support in a time where they face many questions, are feeling scared in their current situation, or are excited for whats to come. It is such an honor to be with these women and support them in their pregnancies! I always feel supported by the staff of CAPS and look forward to serving each week; this is such an uplifting experience! I can't wait to see how we continue to grow with the opening of our third clinic!

I'm a current volunteer at CAPS and I absolutely love this ministry. They truly care about the women (and men) they serve. I am most impressed by the on-going training they provide their volunteers. They truly do care about these women and it's always stressed that we are not there to save babies necessarily, but to serve and love the women that come in looking for help. It is always their belief that God does the saving and He works through CAPS in beautiful ways. Of course they care for the babies, but listening to and providing a safe place for these ladies to come and figure out what they need is always first and I love that, I feel it takes the pressure off of me in my own power and gives it to the One it belongs to. It's wonderful to be part of the work that God is doing through CAPS.

I was concerned about the struggle we, as women, go through when faced with pregnancy unplanned. What am I going to do? How can I support this child? What are others going to think of me? How can I get out of this mess? Who can I talk to without the whole world knowing my business? Where can I go for help? Why is this happening to me? When am I going to learn?
I found a great place to learn, and be formally trained, to help other women answer all of these questions and make well informed, confident decisions about their individual situations- College Area Pregnancy Services, (CAPS).
CAPS strives to re-enforce women in all phases of their lives, from Spiritual to education and employment choices, love and marriage, family development, and especially in their time of need during pregnancy.
And, for women who are looking forward to pregnancy and need a positive affirmation and some resources to help, CAPS is a welcoming place to visit.
CAPS offer free counseling, pregnancy test/verification, ultra sound and photos, and many support services, and material aid.

I am currently in the training process to become a volunteer peer counselor with CAPS. I was amazed at the thoroughness of the 8-week classroom training and even more amazed at how much I learned about myself during that time. The training is meant to teach the basics of being a good counselor - and it definitely does that - but it also lead to a lot of growth in my relationships both to God and to other people.

It has been a blessing to see the dedication of the staff members and the volunteers to the cause of helping women through unplanned pregnancies, to each other, and to Christ. I am looking forward to being part of this organization in whatever capacity I can for as long as I can. CAPS is a blessing to the San Diego community and the Lord is using this organization for much good.

I was a model for the nurses to get their re-certification. They were super friendly when I came in and didn't mind at all that I had my two other children there with me. I was a little disappointed that they could not give me a definite answer as to the gender of the baby, but they were able to get some good pictures of the "area" so I could make my own guess.

Overall, it was a nice experience and I would definitely recommend people to this place.

I have been a volunteer at CAPS for a number of years and know that it is a very worthy, non-profit organization. The quality and diversity of services offered is impressive. Some of these are:
-pregnancy tests,
-counseling,
-education
-sonograms,
-help with material resources such as maternity and baby clothes.

Depending on the need, there are referrals for doctors, social agencies, housing etc. All this and a genuine concern for every client is at absolutely no cost to the client. Clinics at both locations are funded entirely by donations and I count it a privilege to serve here.

I first became aware of CAPS through an informational donor dinner we were asked to attend by some friends. Skeptical of what services were actually provided, my husband and I decided to check into it further before donating our rather small discetionary funds. We were so pleased to learn that CAPS cares about all the women who step through the doors and provides an astonishing amount of services to meet many needs of these women from providing pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, pre-natal vitamins, referrals to county services that will help them (from Medical to in-home nursing care), even baby clothes for those needing it-all free! Most importantly, the counselors provide information in a loving and caring way so each client understands all her options so she can make an informed decision about this extremely difficult situation she finds herself in. From counseling about STD's to pre-natal development to post abortion care, CAPS truly cares about each woman and her situation. Not only have we become a monetary donor, I've since become a lay counselor and would recommend any woman to seek help here.

I just finished going through CAP's rather comprehensive training including sitting-in observation sessions to become a lay counselor. One thing I came away with, so far, is that the counselors and staffs here are focused on one thing: loving the women who come through the door no matter what circumstances and backgrounds.

We're not here to persuade them or impose our belief but we're here to help these women who are faced, sometimes with impossible situations, to be able to sort through with options and information. I hope to share in CAPS' passion in loving and caring for these women. I'm proud to be part of such an amazing mission.

I know that CAPS brings them comfort in the pain of their decision. I have had the privilege of watching women go from desperation to hope in a program that CAPS offers for healing. I have been told many times, "Everyone should know about CAPS and this program."

Thank you CAPS and all the volunteers for what you do and the time you spend with our women! You are all a blessing!!!
