Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals
Mission: The Cochise county humane society is an organization vitally interested in eliminating the problems of unwanted abused or neglected companion animals and free-roaming cats. Our goals are to promote responsible pet ownership and to reduce pet overpopulation by assisting low-income residents with a spay/neuter program.
Target demographics: we help with financial cost, to spay and neuter dogs and cats for low income and homeless population. We also have a program for TNR trap, neuter, return of feral cats throught out the county.
Direct beneficiaries per year: We helped over 400 animals with spay and neuter. This helps decrease the population of unwanted animals that are abandoned or end up in a shelter and or euthanized.
Geographic areas served: Cochise County Arizona
Programs: We have accomplished our goal of minimizing the feral cat population in the county. Shelters have reported the number of intakes has decreased significantly.
