Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Education, Human Services, Job Training, Thrift Shops
Mission: The mission of Clothes That Work is to clothe, educate, and empower individuals for employment success. As part of our vision, we strive to become a leading workforce development resource investing in the continuous professional advancement of those we serve.
Results: Clothes That Work was founded in 1998 and originally served only women by providing them with professional attire for interviews and the workforce. Today, we provide services to women, men, and teens and have expanded our services to include professionalism trainings and resume building workshops. We also have the ability to take these services on the go with the Mobile Outreach Initiative, which allows us to provide services to those who need them but cannot physically get to our facility in Dayton. We have accommodated those we serve by remove transportation barriers and providing unrestricted access to valuable workforce resources. The Boutique is an upscale retail shop featuring brand name items at major discounts. The Boutique is stocked with donated items that don't appropriately fill the needs of our clients, and the shop is run by volunteers. 100% of the proceeds The Boutique generates, is funneled back into our programs and services.

Programs: The Clothing & Coaching Program: Our Clothing and Coaching Program is designed to give job seekers the wardrobe they need to be successful in an interview and the advice they need to create a positive, lasting impression. A trained coach is paired with clients to help them select the best clothes for the job and offer guidance on ways to succeed in the interview. Workforce Education Initiative: Our Workforce Education Initiative includes a series of workshops designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills that lead to personal growth and employment success. Mobile Outreach Initiative: The Mobile Outreach program features CTW’s 38-foot-long mobile unit that addresses the issue of transportation barriers for job seekers in the region. This mobile unit allows us to take our clothing and coaching program on the road.
