Causes: Employment Preparation & Procurement, Job Training, Sheltered Employment, Vocational Rehabilitation
Mission: To provide opportunities for training and employment to people with barriers to employment.
Programs: Adult developmental activity - cvii performs contracted services for various agencies, such as cleveland county mental health system - partners, western highlands lme, isothermal planning and community development, and nc division of vocational rehabilitation services. These services include: adult developmental vocational program (advp), supported employment, and developmental therapy. All services are designed to provide assistance with the acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help, socialization and adaptive skills to enable all consumers to attain and or maintain their maximum functional level. Secondly, our consumers become active participants in our community and their families are able to get back to work or out in our community to become active as well. Care - this e-cycling program started in january 2013, and serves cleveland, polk and rutherford counties. The assets recovered through the e-cycling project generate additional production revenue to support services and provide additional placements for consumers.
ua thrift - this program provides employment and training opportunities for people with barriers to employment in retail sales and merchandising. It is dependent on community donations of furniture, house wares, clothing, etc. And works with other agencies in our community to recruit donated goods.
