Mission: The Cleveland Grotto is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the Nation's fragile underground resources. This includes caves, their contents (living and inanimate), and entire groundwater/drainage systems. One of our major focuses is on educating the public about the value, fragility and general importance of cave systems and their environmental impact on the surrounding surface area. The Cleveland Grotto has been an active participant in cave and groundwater cleanup projects, both on our own and in conjunction with the American Cave Museum in Kentucky. Donations received are used to further our own projects, as well as to help with those of other cave protection agencies.
