Mission: Clean water action is a national citizens organization working for clean, safe, and affordable water, prevention of health threatening pollution, creation of environmentally safe jobs and businesses and empowerment of people to make democracy work. Clean water action organizes strong grassroots groups, coalitions and campaigns to protect our environment, health, economic well-being and community quality of life.
Programs: Public education: citizen contact & educational outreach, providing information for individual and community involvement in public policy and local impacts on issues related to water, environmental health, toxics and the environment.
public policy research and lobbying: legislative contact and educational outreach, engaging individuals, organizations and public officials in efforts to understand and improve policies and their implementation related to water and environment, with major emphasis on water quality and safety and environmental health risks from polluting power plant emissions.
education and training: programs to inform the general public and improve the performance of environmentally concerned public and private institutions/agencies.
