Mission: To assist arts and heritage organizations in clarksville-montgomery county, tn; fort campbell, ky; and four nearby counties in tennessee in marketing, developing and presenting quality arts and heritage programs; and, by doing so enhancing arts and heritage awareness, promoting economic development, and contributing to the overall quality of life for the 185,000+ residents they serve.

Geographic areas served: Bringing the joy that comes with creating art to everyone in our community.
Programs: The clarksville arts & heritage development council held the 12th annual clarksville writers conference bringing 10 southeastern authors and a literary agent to lead workshops on writing and publishing; printed a cultural calendar with work by 14 local artists and posting of local cultural events throughout the year; acted as the designated agency for the tennessee arts commission to allocate arts build communities funds in seven counties; hosted the fourth annual 2rivers plein air paint out, with artists from middle tennessee and southern kentucky converging on clarksville to paint the community, culminating in an exhibition and art sale on the final evening of the event; worked with the roxy theatre and planters bank to bring classic movies back to franklin street; hosted exhibits and receptions for the middle tennessee watercolor society and centerstone clients; partnered with austin peay state university and the montgomery county historical society to present a one-day symposium on clarksville from 1861 through 1890; partnered with the tennessee state hall of fame and the womens network to plan a tennessee discovery trail lined with small sculptures of tennessee symbols; publicized arts events hosted by organizations throughout the community through facebook postings and emails; honored rosalind kurita, carolyn ferrell, cindy marsh and mike fink with lifetime achievement awards for their contributions to heritage and the arts in our community; worked in partnership with first presbyterian church of clarksville and the downtown artists co-op on the arts 4 hearts program to bring arts experiences to community members who face economic, physical or cognitive barriers to the arts; assisted the apsu center of excellence for the creative arts in selecting a director for the center; partnered with the apsu center of excellence for the creative arts and f & m bank to host an october toast to the arts to kick off national arts month; collaborated with first presbyterian church, trinity episcopal church and other organizations for spiritfest, a pre-parade celebration of christmas; and worked with the tennessee triumph steering committee to begin work on a statue to honor montgomery county women who worked for the passage of the 19th amendment.
