Mission: The claremont museum of art celebrates the richness of claremont's artistic legacy and supports the cultural vitality of the region. We seek to inspire, stimulate and enhance the community through our collection, education programs and exhibitions.
Programs: Arts education programs: artstart education project: project artstart trains high school and college students to provide exhibit-based art lessons for elementary school students. By bringing high-quality, art appreciation classes and activities to the claremont school system, we inspire, promote the understanding of art and highlight claremont's rich artistic history. Family art: the family art program, presents creative art activities for children at city festivals. Local art educators and volunteers plan, prepare and guide young visitors in hands-on art projects.
padua hills fiesta: reviving a festival held annually in claremont in the 1950's. The festival clebrates the artistic heritage of claremont. Activities include sales by local artists, demonstrations of different art making techniques, and music by local musicians.
museum space and exhibitions: the claremont museum of art has adapted the historic train depot in downtown claremont as an art exhibition space, mounting three to four exhibitions a year focused on regional artists that have contributed to and influenced the rich artistic heritage of the claremont community. The museum is open friday, saturday and sunday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
