Mission: To reduce homelessness through advocacy, housing, job training, and employment by partnering with business and local community resources.
Programs: The clara white mission's housing program has the goal of moving veterans and other homeless participants to permanent housing and independent living by the end of 24 months. Residents are required to be working and/or in school, to participate in case management and life skills classes, to complete a mental health assessment and engage in mental health counseling as indicated, to complete a health assessment with the nurse, to maintain sobriety and to participate in substance abuse education classes and support groups, as required.
the clara white mission's "soup kitchen" service provides hot meals to the general homeless population. The program serves 350 persons daily. Volunteers assist with serving the meals.
the clara white mission's one-stop community development center restores and builds lives through our job training, employment placement and housing initiatives and more. The 20-week (culinary) and 18-week (janitorial/construction) curricula are licensed by the department of independent education through the state of florida and designed to offer students an opportunity to acquire new skills in an environment that will prepare them for a career in these industries. The mission is certified with the national center for contruction education and research.
