We support CityHope because they meet real tangible human needs within the Greater Concord community. They provide food, financial assistance, and mentoring to the financially vulnerable. Their approach is more of hand-up than hand-out, focusing on building relationships with their clients to empower and encourage. They do indeed provide hope.
I had the opportunity to be a part of the CityHope food pantry at CenterPoint Church a few weeks ago. There was so much joy in the room among the volunteers and people gathering to receive help. Each person is a name with a story, not just a number with a problem. Incredible!
The Process of restoration
Walls have been used throughout human history, for both protection and separation. Lisa and Cityhope perhaps is one of the most impressive people and organizations to work with and one who ever constructed the great wall and barrier breaker. Cityhope works with people from all walks of life. Which is an amazing. However, the most famous one’s in modern times are the homeless and felon population. Cityhope cut that barrier in half and prevented citizens from feeling the prejudice that permeates certain circles of our society.
But walls aren’t the only issues people face. Because of our need to feel secure, Cityhope sometimes get really close to what others deem unforgivable and meant to keep out the one who wronged someone, but Cityhope knows also that keeps us imprisoned in the self-destructive consequences of bitterness.
Cityhope is a forgiving and loving organization. Lisa and the foundations she represents are great and helpful.
Cityhope supports the secondary results of love; glorious freedom, restored joy, and restful peace with people. Which will you choose?

To know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding. - Proverbs 1:2
“Thank you CityHope for showing me how to connect with resources and support by helping me with education, food, clothing, books and more. I’m not much of a speaker but CityHope has shared information on problem solving and solutions made simple. Let me take you to the dead of winter. Overnight a foot of snow has fallen and today you have to trudge through that snow as you walk to your car or bus. In that much snow you don’t step in fresh snow, you step in steps - the foot prints of people who went before you. This is what it is like leaving prison and starting over with nothing. It’s like walking in a snow blizzard at night. What I’m trying to say is CityHope has shown me these tracks that makes it a bit easier for me to negotiate the new terrain. Thank you CityHope from the bottom of my heart and God bless you all.” -Jay
There aren't enough words to say how many ways CityHope has been there for me through some very difficult times. From friendship, to life coaching and maneuvering through obstacles, guidance, support, education through the Getting Ahead program, connecting me with resources for housing assistance to find a warm, safe home for my daughter and I to rest our heads, and well as help having a safe, reliable vehicle.
CityHope treats people with the utmost compassion and genuine love you could imagine. I could go on and on about how amazing this nonprofit organization truly is. Not one person from the CityHope director , to the board and every volunteer could be more involved with showing those in our community that they matter.
Not only has CityHope been by my side throughout health issues, avoiding homelessness, struggling to survive on Ssdi as as a single mom, but I have now found purpose in helping others in any way I can. When I'm feeling well enough, I now spend my time volunteering, trying to help others who are struggling. For any individuals, single moms, or families that need help, know that you matter and hope is not lost. CityHope encouraged and believed in me when I had lost faith in myself. They can help you find your way!

This agency has helped me and my family re-establish ourselves. We were in a situation where it seemed impossible. Not only have we gained everything that we needed we even gained more than what we left behind. I can never express my gratitude of how much they helped me and my children.
I had the privilege this week of being part of a team from CityHope that moved a single mom with 2 amazing young children, escaping domestic violence , into a safe transitional apartment. And every 1st and 3rd Saturday I get to be part of a food pantry team that loves our community and meets needs non-stop.
CityHope of NH is here to say we see you, we hear you, and you are not alone. And we mean it and live it!
CityHope is not only helping families with food and social service assistance, they are solving problems in the community, trying to help low income people identify community resources. Recently they helped a homeless woman who just got an apartment. She had a dangerous gas leak and was afraid to say anything out of fear of loosing her apartment she just got. CityHope immediately connected her to one of their Steering Committee members who works for the fire department and they quickly resolved this life threatening circumstance.
