Mission: MISSION STATEMENT: Connecting the mainstream and margins for mutual spiritual growth and transformation.City House opened its metaphoric doors in 2000. Rather than a particular place, City House represents a group of experienced and trained spiritual directors who have committed themselves to serving people who live on the margins of our society. City House promotes self-reliance and offers hope among disadvantaged persons in the Twin Cities. We do this by offering opportunities for spiritual companionship and exploration which encourages deepening one's spiritual life--not a particular religion or faith. City House works with established social service agencies to add a unique non-denominational, spiritual dimension to their services. We serve the people these agencies serve, offering them an added holistic dimension to their healing and transformation. City House offers spiritual companionship with individuals struggling with issues related to homelessness, poverty, incarceration, reintegration into the community, and chemical dependency. There is no one else providing ecumenical spiritual companionship opportunities in this way to disadvantaged groups in the Twin Cities. City House fulfills a unique role in our community, providing important services that make a life-changing difference to people struggling in the face of significant obstacles to their self-sufficiency. In total, City House operates in partnership with 14 agencies at 20 sites, around the Twin Cities.
