Programs: Public area maintenance program within improvement districtlast year there was 137,473 pounds of trash and 67 block faces of graffiti removed. In addition, our beautification program requires us to complete two seasonal plantings every year in the spring and fall for 154 hanging baskets and 46 large planters. This requires watering three times per week. There is also pressure washing of the streets once a week and in the fall our atlv vacuums the leaves from the street along with other debris. Supplemental services are also offered to the city (i. E. , mowing of grassy areas). The ambassadors assisted in the clean up of many major events in the main street district (i. E. , the latin festival, soda city market, jam room, indie grits, hip hop festival and the greek festival).

public safety program within improvement districtcity center partnership ("ccp") has a shuttle service within the main street district ("msd"). Last year we gave 21,337 complimentary shuttles and assisted 657 stranded motorists, either changing tires or battery jumps. Ccp ambassadors also provided escorts in the evening, homeless and community outreach, collaboration with columbia police department, placement of area security cameras and patrolling of the msd.

economic development program for improvement districtccp employs an office/retail recruiter to assist in recruitment and retention of businesses (11 new businesses opened last year). Ccp markets, promotes and advocates for downtown columbia via billboards, press releases, social media, newsletters, website, and advertisements. Ccp purchased large planters and hanging baskets to beautify main street. Ccp's ambassadors welcomed thousands of people to downtown for the total eclipse weekend. Ccp's yellow shirts handed out complimentary eclipse viewing glasses and popsicles to hundreds of people during the event.
