Results: In 2021, CCEL volunteers:
- Engaged members of Congress by holding 1,353 lobby meetings, writing 162,083 constituent letters, and making 48,567 phone calls.
- Increased visibility for climate solutions by getting 3,919 pieces of media published, as well as participating in 193 television and radio programs.
- Increased public awareness and engagement by holding 1,735 outreach events.
- Held 1,921 meetings with local businesses and community organizations to increase “grasstops” support for climate legislation.
- Secured 969 prominent new endorsements for climate solutions from community leaders, businesses, academic institutions, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders.
Through coordinated efforts over the years, CCE has helped advance dozens of climate policies — including the enactment of five state-level and four federal climate laws. In addition, CCE played a key role in establishing the bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucuses in both the House (2016) and the Senate (2019).
