I volunteer with Circus of Hope because I love what they do for kids. They focus on kids that are beat down by life's challenges and use circus arts to lift them up, and model for them how they can accomplish what seems impossible. At first the kids don't believe they can do that trick but check it out, not only can they, they did. All the while the members of Circus of Hope and their volunteers are showing these kids that somebody really does care. The increase in self esteem these two things give are unimaginable and can make a world of difference in a kid that is struggling.
I volunteer with Circus of Hope, and have worked with kids in the circus arts for years. The circus arts provide an opportunity for focused play, that has this unique way of empowering kids to go from "I can't" to "I can"! Kids in this supportive environment , achieve skills that seemed unattainable and leave feeling proud, able and a little bit magical. I have seen it over and over again, and it continues to delight and amaze me.
Circus of Hope provides such a fun, creative, and inspirational way to reach out to kids, no matter what their background or situation. Their passion for changing kids' lives through circus arts shows in everything they do. I've personally seen kids find their strength and grow in confidence. It's truly amazing to watch the kids light up as they learn a new skill... and even more amazing to see them sharing and encouraging other kids to do the same. Keep up the great work, Circus of Hope!!
