The legal issues surrounding this "non-profit" is horrible. They did not have people skilled in education and never had a doctor or medical professional on site. The girls were completely isolated and could not communicate with parents. Putting the word Christian IN front of something does not make it fantastic and safe. So many have developed PTSD from their experiences here among many other mental and physical health issues. Pants were considered a sin and lots of things were prohibited. BUT it was not a sin for the staff to physically, emotionally, and sexually abuse the clients who had the unfortunate reality of staying here. These people claim to live by the bible but cherry pick what they think is right and disregard other parts of the bible. Most 5 star reviews are saying "It was not sunshine and rainbows" or that "It was harsh and not for everyone" non of this is factual parents did not consent to their child being reprimanded by capital punishment. These are adults who have no idea how to take care of children.
People say this place kept their child out of jail, drugs, gangs, etc. Beating a child into submission does nothing. No child learns that the behavior is wrong they only learn that they should not get caught. The only way it kept these kids "safe" from drugs and gangs was that they were beaten till they feared the abuse and tried to avoid it. They lied about their registration with the board of education and encouraged parents to cheap out on Christmas gifts and only allowed bibles (no other books) even when they spend lots of money just to send their kids here. Wish I could give this place no stars. I went to cirlcle of hope in 2013. During my stay in was abused mentally, physically, verbally. The mental and verbal abuse was I was always being Told that I was useless and I was never gonna make it anywhere in life, I was told I was stupid and ugly and had no potential and that I’d live in that home till I died. The physical abuse was we were literally dragged out of bed at 5 in the morning and made us make our bed and get dressed in less than 5 minutes. They would then make us go outside and do chores and clean the chicken coops and stuff like that. Then by that time it was 7 and we would go inside and stand around the table for 30 minutes quoting whole passages from the Bible, and if you messed up you didn’t get to eat breakfast. After breakfast they would make us go do more chores until school started. Before lunch we would then again have to stand there for 30 minutes and quote more passages from the Bible. If you messed up you couldn’t eat and they’d make you Do push-ups or be in the ‘plank’ position the entire time, and they would purposely make the girls eat slower so you’d have to be there longer and if you fell you didn’t get dinner either. After lunch if you were ‘fat’ in there eyes you would have to go run 3 miles and if you puked or stopped you couldn’t eat the next meal, and you got 3 extra miles added. After dinner we had to go do more chores for 2 more hours and clean and do outside work. After that it would be shower time and you had to get undressed and get your shower stuff in less than 3 minutes, and you’d have to sit in the hallway in your bra and underwear with just a towel around you and if you were lucky enough to have a big one. Each girl got 3-5 minutes showers if you went over that time, for the next 3 days you got 3 minute cold showers and they would walk in their open the curtain on you and check. And this 3-5 minute shower included you had to take your bra and underwear off wash your body and hair and then dry off and put them back on in that little time. After shower time we would then have to read our bibles for an hour before bed. That was a typical day at circle of hope. The amount of abuse that goes on in that place messes you up so much, to have to watch the girls be physically restrained and choked to where they can’t breathe messed up your mind. I’ve seen girls get kicked and pushed to the ground and made to work to their literal breaking point. So if your reading this please do not send your kids here, please don’t. Expose circle of hope and get them shut down for good!!

I saw on a social media platform a girl that used to go here sharing her story. It’s horrible what you do to these girls. You starve them with only 3 meals a day, never give them free time to enjoy themselves and have any fun. I also heard that the couple that owns this place daughter that they beat her and her brother WITH GOLF CLUBS and made her brother soak his feet in bleach. They also monitored all of the girls staying there when they wrote notes or called their families. (So they couldn’t exape) Also, she started that the punishments were horrible horrible unimaginably bad. The former student that went there is so strong for being able to share her story and makes people like me care enough about this abuse to try and help. No child deserves to be treated like that and be abused, I firmly believe that the people that own this place deserve to go to prison and for the facility to be shut down( I hope that any good person would also believe that) This is a scam, people are paying for their children to go there and having to pay money, but they never get to actually know how their child is because the place knows that they are bad (evil) and doesn’t want parents to find out and take their kids out. One time, brother's house made a girl who tried to run away stand against a wall, with only a robe and underwear, doing nothing for 5 days. No one was allowed to tell their parents. They would look over the letters that the girls sent their parents, and if they see something they didn't like, they would make them rewrite it. A girl had anemia, so she was shaking. Another girl was not happy with her shaking, so she took her to brother house. Brother house poked her VERY hard on the forehead. This school relies on physical abuse to treat the kids. Please. I was not personally in this place but I have a friend who was and she said that she along with other girls were mentally and physically abused ant they weren't allowed to over or under eat and if they write a letter to there parents and it had something negative about the place or even had a spelling error they would not sent it and of they were caught running away they would have "robe time" Which ment they had to stand against a wall in a robe and she had to stand there for 5 days and she tried to run away again and brother house stomped on her feet to the point where she couldn't walk and if she was bad throughout the year she would only get ham for thanksgiving and once she had not done so well on her school work and she couldn't see her parents for Christmas if you are thinking of sending your child there DON'T!!

When you read a bad review, you have to ask yourself 3 things: Why would people like the Householders do this kind of risky, difficult and thankless work? What really goes on there? And WHO is making the accusations?
We sent our daughter to Circle of Hope when we were out of all remaining options. She had accused and lied and hurt others too many times to count, she had run through all the state-run treatment programs with even a worse result than she went in, and was refusing to come home. She was 14. I DO know where our daughter would be today if Circle of Hope had not been willing to take a risk and work with her: homeless, drug-addicted, promiscuous and still using social media to scheme how to ruin everyone who tried to help her.
The Householders offered our daughter a safe place to get a ‘reset' in life. How do they do it? At first, she gave them hell. She was really good at it. They gave her boundaries. The choices were always hers. They respect that. No one can force another to change and have it stick. The Householders offer structure, safety from self-harming, patience, and protection from the real-world consequences of the girls’ bad choices.
The girls who are sent there are experts at manipulation and know what to say, who is sympathetic to complain to, and how to throw shade at others to be successful at their "games.” Chances are, you've been through this on the receiving end yourself. Sadly, not every girl who gets a "last chance" will turn her life around. Some will still play the victim and blame the people who tried to help long after their time there instead of taking personal responsibility for their choices/actions.
You have to judge people by the patterns in their lives. Chaos follows chaotic people. The Householders try to help them all, but not all are willing to be saved. Some patterns never change. But some do change and learn to thrive.
Circle of Hope’s program gives these troubled girls a new structure of boundaries, clear expectations and consequences…and an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start a new life. The Householders do this work because they answer to a higher authority, God, whose Word stands up to scrutiny, is a guide for the lost, and blesses those who tell the truth. And the truth will always come out. Someone famous said "Lies race halfway around the world while Truth is still putting its shoes on." So true in our social media age. Sad, bitter and gullible people spend a lot of time on that garbage.
The proof is in the results. The Householders have been doing this work for 30+ years and there are many success stories who go on to live good, normal lives. (Like all online reviews, the success stories don’t take the time to write reviews like the complainers do.)
Thank God, our daughter turned her life around. She was there 4 1/2 years. We visited many times and I saw for myself that it was a long, hard slog to reach her and the others. It takes patience, good humor (Brother House’s dry sense of humor is a much-needed release valve for the pressure they’re under, but sadly, some visitor took advantage of his wisecrack to make him look bad out of context. You try doing this kind of work without cracking a joke every now and then!) and it takes persistence. There’s an old-fashioned word that fits here: GRIT.
If your child has dug herself into the deepest pit and you can’t reach her, you have to ask for help and trust someone. We trusted Brother House and Mrs. Steph with our daughter, and I would trust them again. We are so grateful that they stick with the hardest job in the world, and don’t give up even when they’re attacked and slandered. They understand their thanks won’t truly come in this lifetime. They do it because reaching the ones who WILL turn around is worth the COST of the ones who WON’T.
I am so grateful for them because my daughter has a chance at life now. The rest is up to her to live with the integrity and authenticity of faith that the Householders showed her at Circle of Hope. God bless you, Boyd and Stephanie.

I haven’t heard ONE good thing about this school. Do you know how many victims have come out about the abuse that they had went through there? This is a CULT. They use anatomical pressure point restraining to force the girls down, force girls to tackle & hit each other as a form of punishment, use dark isolation/solitary confinement with no access to basic amenities such as bathrooms, & humiliation techniques that cause for trauma & PTSD. They use God's name in vain by cherry picking parts of the Bible to justify their aggression. Worse out of all, they are giving God a bad representation. God encourages compassion, patience, honesty, forgiveness, kindness, & LOVE. God IS love. & THIS IS NOT LOVE. Jesus didn't have to hurt anyone to get his point across. These girls may walk away never wanting anything to do with God again because of their experiences here & NOTHING is worth that.

I have been here for about 5 years now. Some ask why what made you decide this and some people have called me crazy, but let me explain why. I was originally brought to Circle of Hope by my dad and to be honest at first I absolutely hated him for that not because this place was terrible but I couldn't do the things I wanted anymore. But a month after I was sent here (July 26, 2013) I got saved. No I wasn't perfect but it definitely changed my perspective on things. I no longer hated my dad but thanked him for sending me here, and I no longer wanted to do those same things I did before. Now my relationship with my parents is mended and I talk to them on a regular basis. I was accused of being brainwashed by my own biological mother and even sent to a Psychiatrist to pronounce me crazy. This is far from the truth I was not brainwashed in fact I still like the Dallas Cowboys and Fords. I chose to stay after my two years to stay finish my school and graduate. (Which I have completed my schooling). Now I am working here on Staff to help Brother House and Mrs. Steph. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to place their daughter in a home to help troubled teenagers. When you are here you feel the love and care that they have for each and everyone of the girls. I greatly thank the Householder's for all they do and have done, and not quitting when things get rough or when girls make allegations. (That are far from the truth) Please don't believe the lies that are out there.

Cicle of hope is an amzing place with wonderful people. Brother householder is a VERY caring man he would risk his life for any of the girls there likewise his wife. Despite what anyone who has gone there may think they have helped many girls and continue to do so evrey day. They are always careful to hand out disapline within the law. They will NEVER do something that they do not have the right to. Anyone who goes there you can be assured that they will be in very good care!
Circle of Hope is an amazing organization bringing young ladies to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My daughter has been there five years. Circle of Hope has kept her out of jail, off drugs and prevented her from getting pregnant or joining a gang. Circle of Hope is my daughter's only hope. Don't believe the lies.
I personally went to circle of hope. Most of things said are lies! I can say I honestly hated it and guarantee your girls did to, to the point where they’ll lie about it! You sent your girls here for a reason such as LIEING so why believe them now. I won’t say I think everything there was right but I don’t think lieing will fix anything. Brother house NEVER spat in girls faces or deprived them of eating. If a girl didn’t eat it was because she refused to eat what was given! We had school like trays and they were always full! No girl was ever shoved in there own vomit. I’ve seen girls there throw up even on purpose they were just requested to clean it up. If a girl did push-ups in horse manure it was there fault for not moving. But no one ever made them. A lot of crap is said. So really don’t say stuff unless you really no.
I loved my stay at circle of hope. Im not saying that things are roses and rainbows but with every low I learned to trust in God and every high I learned to love and trust God even more. I think what the Householders do is amazing.
