Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Mission: Circle of Friends is a volunteer organization that reaches out to children, teens and young adults with special needs in Fairfield County, CT and involves them in a full array of inclusive, social experiences. Our innovative programming of home visits, play dates and social interactions, is designed to foster a relationship between children, teens and young adults with special needs and community teenage volunteers. In addition to helping families in need, Circle of Friends empowers and enriches its network of volunteers (the majority of whom are teenagers) by enabling them to reap the vast rewards of participating in a program that strengthens their personal connections to the community by giving back to the community. Circle of Friends is non-sectarian and reaches out to all faith communities.

This is a great organization and I admire the person who runs it. Circle of Friends provides inclusion for children and teens who could benefit from one on one buddies while at the same time providing opportunities for teen volunteers to learn about friendship, kindness and diversity.

Circle of Friends is an incredible organization with a extraordinary purpose. They emphasize and promote kindness, inclusion, and tolerance and create a safe space for people of all walks of life to have learn and have fun. In the time that I've spent volunteering there, I've felt so inspired and uplifted with the warm community that embodies the Beth Israel Chabad. I strongly recommend that anyone who wants to help brighten people's days and overall better the future of our community get involved in this organization. There's something for everyone!

I currently work as a recruiter to employ therapists that work with children with Autism. I came across Cirlce of Friends for a client of ours that needed a friend for their autistic son. This nonprofit organization is so much more than one may think. It is a family for children, teens, and young adults that have autism. A place where differences do not matter and where inclusion builds valuable friendships and everlasting memories.
