The Cafe has fantastic chocolate milkshakes, but that's not the reason I go. I head all the way to Aliquippa because it is a uniquely welcoming and supportive creative community. It's a great "third space" to play music, read poetry, perform spoken word, or just meet friends. There is such a sense of unconditional love and acceptance, and, at the same time, many challenges given to live an authentically Christian life. I don't think I've ever been a part of a community more committed to speaking the truth in love and to meeting people where they are. Thank you, God, for providing Uncommon Grounds as a safe place for anyone to come and receive love, from addicts and the homeless to college kids from every background, and for using the ministry there to showcase the beautiful diversity of the kingdom of God. The name reflects truth: the cafe surely provides something unique and special. These are Uncommon Grounds.
