Christ's Kitchen in Montrose, CO has been serving a FREE hot lunch program, for almost ten years. The mission has changed as the needs of the area have changed. Christ's Kitchen started as a soup kitchen for homeless individuals. It has evolved into a four course lunch for families in need, individuals and still feeds the homeless of the area. Christ's Kitchen is supported by the local churches, private individuals, guests who can afford a donation, and some private foundation funding. The food comes from the Rocky Mountain Food Bank and Sharing Ministries and is prepared fresh daily from scratch. The atmosphere is safe, friendly, and healthy for all our guests. Doors open at 9 am Monday-Friday for coffee and pastry, lunch is served from 11:30 to 1 pm. Christ's Kitchen always welcomes new volunteers who help to prepare, serve and clean up as needed. Volunteering at Christ's Kitchen has changed my life and many others.
