Mission: CWJC of Greater Baytown, began in 2004. Our mission is to teach women skills to become independent and self-sufficient in life. Through building self-esteem, job training, computer training, and other hands on teaching, women are better equipped to break the ties of poverty and leaning on government assistance. Women become empowered by gaining confidence through their class work, building healthly relationships and choose higher paying careers without fear. CWJC's current goal is to provide a home for the women and children who are homeless. These women will be required to complete the CWJC course requirements in additional to more in-depth personal goal setting and money management to prepare them to purchase their own home. This is a huge need in our area since hurricanes, Rita and Katrina devasted our housing and resources in Baytown, and brought thousands of families to our area. Safe, affordable housing is non-existent in our area. Our goal is to meet this critical need by purchasing a home for the women to start living healthy, independent lives, free from assistance and continue teaching them the values and sacrifices it takes to own your own home and be a productive and proud citizen. She will now give back to the community, because of her experiences and the pride she has for all she's accomplished! She's a better mother, wife, neighbor, friend, an employee with integrity and worth. She treasures the things she has and respects her property and others. She sees the scares fading and a vibrant new life ahead. That's why we do what we do!
