Mission: To establish legal aid clinics in the philadelphia area which will work in cooperation with existing community-based ministries to provide legal and spritual services to low-income clients.
Programs: Regular legal clinics we are an urban poverty law firm that provides free, one-hour legal consultations to every indigent client who walks through our doors, as well as additional pro bono representation for more extensive legal matters. The vast majority of our clients are seen through our regular clinics, which are offered on a weekly, twice monthly, or monthly basis, depending on clinic location. In all, we offer 14 regular clinics per month. In 2017, we served 834 clients at 135 regular clinics, and provided extended legal advice and/or court representation to 12 clients in-house. Our organization is entirely reliant on volunteer attorneys, who donated approximately $285,350* of contributed services to this program in 2017. *this figure is not included in total program service expenses (4e) below.
specialty legal clinicsin addition, we also offer specialty clinics throughout the year at various locations. One of our strongest partners for these specialty clinics is state rep. Jordan harris's office, with whom we have at least three estate planning clinics each year. In 2017, we served 73 clients at 4 specialty clinics. For this program, our volunteer attorneys donated approximately $30,375* of contributed services. *this figure is not included in total program service expenses (4e) below.
