The ladies in our office loved the butterflies. "You're Enough" is for everyone, not just the female gender. I work in public transportation and being aware of the signs of someone being exploited is important!

This organization has accomplished amazing things to bring awareness of domestic abuse to light. This awareness breaks the shame, stigma and silence around domestic abuse for those who were previously unaware. This also opens the door for those seeking help. I am proud to be a part of this foundation.

Love what’s this organization stands for. Choose courage has a unique way of bringing light to such a dark place in our society. I think this is definitely a needed and well run organization. There are so many people who are living in the shame and stigma that need to be set free from that and celebrated as survivors. I am grateful that is happening through Choose courage.

I am a fan and volunteer of The Choose Courage Foundation because, well look at their vision and mission:

Vision: to break the shame, stigma and silence of domestic abuse.
Mission: grow awareness, inspire victims to seek help, and prevent the next generation of abuse.

The Foundation wants to help break the shame women and men have felt by the stigma others may see as domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is not a private issue because the survivors are part of our community and we help are community.

Rhonda, the founder asked if I would be willing to let her photograph me to show others what courage looks like after surviving domestic abuse. I was apprehensive at first because as with most people, I can be self conscious. We scheduled the shoot in May but it was Texas, it was a hot. So now I’m nervous, sweating and trying to look like I have it all together. I was melting inside and out but Rhonda some how made me feel a sense of purpose and inspiration. Rhonda’s photographs captured a strength I don’t always see in myself when life happens. The photos also captured the gentle, forgiving and kind side of who I am as a person, the mom side.

I wish every survivor could see the same strength, kindness and beauty they have within themselves.

I am grateful to be part of the foundation because I want with all my heart to help end the stigma and shame of domestic violence. And we are by no other name, Survivors. Survivors share what happened to them so that others don’t have to go through it.

This amazing foundation’s mission is to bring awareness, to help victims seek help and to end domestic violence. Now how cool is that!!

I found CCF online via Facebook and a friend of mine. As a survivor, this was the perfect nonprofit to get involved with to help spread awareness. The atmosphere, people, information, and more are beyond amazing and makes everyone feel comfortable and at home with the support and love that most of us need. It’s not just a group of survivors though...it’s also those who advocate for DV, people looking for guidance, those who stand up for the cause, and more. The message is strong too as You are enough is what many need to hear. They need to realize that no matter how broken they feel, how torn apart they’ve been, etc that they are enough and loved. I’ve been a part of this go quite some time and even jumped on board as a Butterfly Ninja Coach to help out. If asked...I have no regrets. I recommend it to others for sure, and have even starting getting my teen daughter involved in small ways as they also have a teen dating violence awareness cause too that is connected with the Red Flag Project.

I learned about Choose Courage Foundation on a story they had on Channel 8 news in Dallas. I thought what a great platform to use and share my DV story to help others. I applied and was chosen to be a model and the experience was Awesome! What a FANTASTIC organization whose purpose is reaching out to victims to break the shame we have from DV. My experience with Choose Courage was beyond encouragement and the amount of people who contacted me after my photoshoot, letting me know how inspiring it was, made me so satisfied in knowing that we reached someone in an abusive situation and knowing my story could help. Choose Courage is the best and I will always be forever grateful in what the do

I first learned about Choose Courage when a friend was a model. It was so powerful to see her pictures. I knew that I eventually wanted to be in a place that I could take part. A couple of years ago I got my chance. It changed me. I met with Rhonda that year. I was her first interview and we planned the date. It turned out that the weather got bad and I ended up being the last model shot that year. The morning of the shoot I was terrified. All my insecurities and fears were loud, but the moment I stepped into get my hair and makeup done it changed. As the day progressed I felt something shift with in me. I felt beautiful; something I had never felt in my whole life. I didnt see a picture until the night before the campaign ran. I set at my kitchen table and wept. I was stunning and powerful. Things I had never seen in myself before that moment. I saw me. Not what someone had told me I was but who I actually was. Since that time I have been apart of a reunion shoot and my daughter has become a teen ambassador to bring awareness to red flags of teen dating. I am so encouraged by what this group stands for and does. They show us we are survivors not just victims. And that there is power on the other side.
