While planning a trip to the USA in 2015, I searched Facebook for chihuahua rescues, this search led me to Roberta and a beautiful little dog then called “Tinkerbelle”. Tinkerbelle was listed as a “special needs senior”, she had various health issues and had been burned very badly before being rescued. Despite all of this, I knew this sweet girl belonged with me. Through much correspondence/reference checks/etc, we were able to arrange adoption. I offered to fly Roberta to my vacation destination with my baby girl and she agreed, meeting Roberta was like meeting an old friend. Everything went so smoothly! My beautful girl happily made the long journey home with me and lived a beautiful, happy, spoiled life for 13.5 months. Her life inspired me, I then began to fundraise in her memory and planned a trip to Phoenix to see exactly where my girl came from. Upon visiting the rescue a little diva dog attached herself to me, she was exactly what I needed to help heal my heart. Dolls has now been with me for a little over 2 years and she is my constant companion, forever shadow and smothers me with her loving kisses. She loves her belly rubs and snuggles (and treats) and is spoiled with all! Thank you, Roberta for being so AWESOME!

I was on social media when I saw Parts for Pups post about Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue. I was browsing their page when I saw " One Eyed Willie" and knew right then that we needed him in our life. Roberta and her daughter made his adoption process so easy even flying with him to his new home in California. Willie is so very lucky to have fallen into their arms. Suffering from a few medical issues, he could have easily been over looked or ....... He has the hugest personality and I couldn't imagine our home without him. To have found a rescue that helps those who cannot speak for themselves is an understatement. Willie and family are forever grateful for having such great people care about him.

Chiquita Chihuahua saves many unwanted senior shelter dogs. They are fully vetted and live in a wonderful loving home with Roberta until they find a perfect home. Heres my girl Iree that I got from Chiquita Chihuahua, discarded by her owner to a shelter in Yuma.

I adopted a dog from CCR 3 years ago this rescue is top notch. None of her dogs are crated. They are well socialized , well fed, healthy and happy . They LOVE Roberta G and will
Live a happy life with her until the RIGHT family comes along ... regardless of time. When I’m ready for dog #2 she will be my first stop. She is wonderful

I have had 2 chihuahuas in my life and I know how special they were to me. CCR came across my social media feed and I was in love with not only all the dogs they pictured but their kindness and devotion to dogs that need help, especially later in life. If more people acted the way CCR does we would be in a better world.

I was on FB and saw a picture of a poodle named Captain. I quickly knew I needed this dog in my life. I reached out to Roberta and she quickly setup a date so I could meet Captain. When we met I held Captain the entire time i was with him and knew i was not going to be able to leave without him. Roberta was so kind and helpful with everything. I will be contacting Roberta again for my next rescue.

Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue was suggested to me as I was looking for a small dog to adopt earlier this year. I reached out to Roberta about looking to adopt and she was so nice. We met at an adoption event to discuss what I was looking for and before I knew it, I was holding my furever pup. She handed me "Mister" to hold as we talked and he melted my heart. We set up a sleepover with him and he never went home! I ended up adopting him and Roberta couldn't have made it any easier for me. I highly recommend this rescue!

For several reasons, I had to give up my beloved chihuahua. I contacted Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue and explained my situation. They were very understanding and agreed to accept my “Papi” into the CCR family. It didn’t take them long to find a suitable new owner. Papi now has a new mommy and two siblings who accompany him on his daily walks. CCR kept me informed the entire way and helped me by answering all my questions. I couldn’t have been treated any better. I miss my Papi, but I feel good about his new home and surrounding.

Roberta puts everything she has into Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue. She has saved countless lives and found perfect homes for so many small dogs. For dogs that require lengthier rehab, and May not be adoptable, the rescue serves as a sanctuary for the dogs to be safe, happy and healthy. It is because of her amazing and selfless work that dogs like Chewie have a forever home with unconditional love.

Saving throwaway dogs like Mary Lou Retton is why Chiquita Chihuahua Rescue is a great nonprofit. While many viewed this amazing video, nobody wanted a chihuahua with her back so damaged she could only walk on her hands. How she survived on the streets of Yuma, AZ, at only 3 pounds is a miracle and a mystery, but she is now SAFE with CCR.
