I work in a very stressful job and it is crucial to be able to find a balance and somehow feed your soul so you can continue to give to others. Ching Farm is that place. To see the love and dedication that Faith has for every animal, (even the mice that get in the feed) is amazing. One of my favorite things about volunteering is being there bright and early and hearing all the various animal calls welcoming you. I am attaching a photo of one of the rescue pigs who was attacked by dogs and can be very timid, but this beautiful feral cat has fallen in love with her and waits until all of us humans are gone and then he snuggles up to his best friend, the pig. It makes my heart almost hurt because it is so precious and shows how amazing animals are and how much they feel.
I have been volunteering at Ching Farm Rescue and Sanctuary for several months and it is the highlight of my week. Faith Ching has dedicated her life to care for the animals and provides a safe and happy home for all. Faith leads an amazing team of volunteers who actively participate in the care of these wonderful animals. From special needs to belly rubs, to community education....we gladly give our time and our hearts. Ching Farm is my happy place and I feel so blessed to be a part of this family!
I first went to Ching Farm Rescue and Sanctuary two years ago for a vegan cheese tasting and I’ve been going back every week since. One can feel the love and happiness of every animal and person on the farm. Faith Ching has tirelessly and selflessly provided the highest level of care for all of her rescued animals for over 20 years, she herself going without so that the animals never have to. She is a true inspiration. In addition to providing sanctuary to the animals and a “happy place” for the volunteers, Ching Farm offers fun and educational tours, vegan cooking classes, and instructional events (e.g. how to care for your pig, film screenings, etc.) to teach the community. Ching Farm Rescue and Sanctuary is truly a treasure to all who have the fortune of visiting/volunteering.
Ching Farm Rescue and Sanctuary is the most amazing place. The animals who get to call this sanctuary home are absolutely fortunate and loved. Faith is a woman of pure strength, knowledge and compassion who selflessly gives of herself daily to the care and support of their wellbeing. She continuously educates volunteers so that they can assist her to provide for these precious beings. As a nonprofit this sanctuary relies on the generosity of others who acknowledge the importance of what it means to recognize that all lives matter. Ching Farm is a part of my life... the animals and people.
Ching Farm has been such a light in my life! Being a weekly volunteer has really changed my life for the better and has helped me understand animals on a whole new level. Faith has so much strength and her love and care for all of the animals is beyond admirable and really is amazing to watch. The events that Ching Farm holds for the public are always amazing and it's great to see outsiders come to the farm and then leave wanting to make a difference or a change that will benefit animal's lives. If you are looking to volunteer somewhere spectacular and make a positive impact on your life, Ching Farm is the place!! If you don't have any time to volunteer, come on down to one of our public events :) I promise that the pig cuddles and goat kisses are worth it!
My mom and I have been volunteering a little over 2 years now. I cant imagine my life without this beautiful place. You can't help but fall in love with all the animals, they know they're safe and loved and are happy to show their appreciation. It's amazing to watch an animal come from a bad place, scared and weak and watch them grow into a strong, happy, healthy, loving little person.. (example: Lewis in the photo). I love this place, I'm so grateful to be a part of the ching fam.
I've been volunteering at Ching farm for just about 4 months now and Faith's love for the animals is unmistakable! The animals are well taken care of by her and the army of volunteers that have been volunteering for years. It's become more than just a way to give back to the animals that need our help, it's become a labor of love.
ching farm is my happy place! every animal is loved, and the know it! I am so grateful that I get to go visit them every week, I wish I had started volunteering much sooner.
This place has honestly made me a happier person. Faith is the most selfless person I have ever met.
Go Ching !
Aw, thanks Helani! We love you!
If you're looking to support a great sanctuary, look no further! This place has brought so much light into my life. Faith is a true angel and offers boundless love, respect, and lifelong care to the many incredible residents who live there. She's a voice for the unheard and a mother to those who have been forgotten. The commitment and compassion she and her volunteers have is infinite, and I can't thank them enough for the work they do to ensure the safety and happiness of all animals who cross their path.
Faith LOVES every single one of the animals in her care with a passion. Before my mom passed, Ching was our happy place. I can't wait to move back home one day to continue my animal therapy ❤️
As recent transplants to the Salt Lake City area, looking for a way to be involved in our new community, Ching Farm Sanctuary and its residents, human and animal, has quickly become like family. There is a team of regular, close knit volunteers, with many local groups also being welcomed to the farm to give service. Our family volunteers together on Saturdays and I am fortunate enough to be able to also volunteer during the week. I always leave feeling as though I was the one receiving the service, rather than giving it. Every resident at Ching is treated with love and respect, often having come to the sanctuary through neglect, abandonment or abuse. Others are beloved family animals that had to be surrendered for various reasons. Each is loved and cared for equally by the dedicated owners of Ching Farm Sanctuary. No one takes a salary at Ching and as a 501-3c non profit, they rely solely on donations for the care of the animals and the up keep of the farm. In the Spring and Summer, educational tours and children's programs are available. Please consider donating time or funds to allow the animals their best future.
Amazing, they work so hard to give these animals a wonderful life. Faith is the hardest worker I have ever met!
This is the worst "rescue" I've ever seen. Overcrowded, dirty, and run with a dictator-like atmosphere by the executive director. Half the "rescued" animals were "rescued" from a breeder/seller in exchange for money. It is one woman's personal farm that is poorly run. I brought my dogs and they picked up a parasite from being there (nose mites). There is no regulatory oversight to keep this place in check and it shows. If you love animals, don't go here.
Faith has a deep connection to animals, and it shows in her work. She works tirelessly to ensure all animals are cared for, and tries to help EVERY animal she possibly can. I've rarely seen sanctuary operators make as much with so little. Please volunteer and support Faith, or a sanctuary near you! Animals need our help!
Ching farm rescue took in my two Nigerian goats when we were moving out of state and they had no where to go. The compassion and dedication that Faith displayed gave me great confidence that there was no better place to leave our beloved pets. Faith gave us a tour of the whole farm and knew every creature there by name. She expressed such an enormous amount of love and concern for each one of them. She has made sure the living conditions were very comfortable for each of them as well. I'm so happy that my little Indigo and Ricochet are able to live out the rest of their lives there.❤
Even though I consider myself a somewhat new volunteer compared to most, having only been a once a week-er for the past nine months, I never thought my life could change so much for the better.
Some ways were expected, most were not. Ching Farm is called a Rescue and Sanctuary, but I never thought it would be so for myself. I haven't been more at peace than since spending time with the varied beautiful animals out on the farm.
We don't realize that they all have personalities just like our pets because we honestly don't have many opportunities to get to know them like we do our pets. Ching Farm changed that for me, and can change it for anyone.
Dare to open yourself up to a new and different perspective of life. Support animals that have been through far too much in their lives. Come love and laugh with us! These lil guys are a hoot!
I am likely one of the newer volunteers to get involved with Ching Farm, and I’ll say that my only disappointment is that I did not begin this work earlier. Faith Ching, along with all of the other volunteers who keep this sanctuary alive, are some of the kindest, most compassionate people I’ve met. Having the opportunity to see and interact with these incredible animals has been an eye-opening and humbling experience. The manner in which Ching Farm provides for these animals allows them to flourish and enjoy their lives to the fullest. Witnessing the different personalities of these animals is a testament to the notion that we are dealing with “someone, not something”. I commend Faith and her team on their education based outreach and look forward to many more opportunities to participate with such an amazing group of people!
Ching Farm is a place where one can go to have their anxiety lifted away, troubles resolved and disappear...a place where friendships start and prosper with Faith, the volunteers and above all...the animals. The experience is unforgettable; having an opportunity to learn and work with a wide range of personalities amongst the animals brings me back to have more experiences. I love my time at Ching Farm. I love letting go of my burdens or weekly routines and escaping to Ching Farm to help maintain the land and socialize with the animals there.
I've volunteered occasionally at Ching Farm and Sanctuary for the ten years. I always feel so happy and entertained amidst the animals - probably since they're so happy! So much can be learned from a day at the farm, but mostly how much love and personality all the animals have! So grateful to Faith, Mike, and all the farm's dedicated volunteers and advocates for providing a wonderful, safe, and loving home for these critters.
