Mission: The children's museum of eau claire, inc. Is an interactive environment for children and their grown-ups that inspires imagination, discovery, creativity, and the love of learning.
Programs: Children's museum of eau claire (cmec) opened its doors in 2004 and has become a destination of learning through play for children zero to ten years old and their grown-ups. Play is not only serious learning but also serious business. In fiscal year 2016, cmec served visitors from 42 wisconsin counties and 43 states. Of the total visitors, 58% reside in eau claire county while 14% and 7% come from chippewa and dunn counties, respectively. Cmec served 81,050 visitors while 1,882 families enrolled as members, 7% and 21% higher respectively, than 2016. Play for all, a reduced priced membership program that serves low-income, military, and families with special needs children had 710 families participate in 2017.
