The Oak Lawn Children's Museum is one of the best things that have happen to us with respect to student learning. Child centered activities, and play based learning can give children the basics they need to be successful in school. By focusing on what is learned in the classroom and applying it to real life situations can help a child better understand the world around them. It is no doubt, that I have to congratulate the administration, staff, and volunteers of the Oak Lawn Children's Museum who help make this connection daily. Its a wonderful thing to watch a child grow and develop.

Kids of all ages will enjoy all there is to do at this wonderful museum. In the short time that the new museum has been opened, it's become the most talked about resource for families in town. In a world where kids tend to plug in and disconnect, the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn draws them together to explore and learn. It's no wonder that kids come from all over for great adventures at the Museum every day. From the open feel to the caring and interested volunteers and staff, the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn will wow you. I'm thrilled that they've been able to add new exhibits as recently as this month in a down economy. Honestly, there is no more fun that a family with young children could have than a visit to latest gem in Oak Lawn.... our Children's Museum!

I am at the Children's Museum at least once a week and as many as 3 days a week with my grandchildren. The 2 year old gets to go more because the 6 year old is in school. The volunteers and personnel there are really helpful and fantastic .As many times as I have been there, I have to bribe the little one out of there to go home no matter how long we stay.It is a teaching and learning experience for all the children there who learn how to share and interact with children of all ages. The exhibits are educational as well as a play time.

My kids thoroughly enjoy all of the activities that the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn has to offer. They spend hours there; my little one knows where everything goes. She often will find things that go in the market across the way in the vet clinic, and say, "Hey, that doesn't go here", and promptly brings it back. My two girls love to play, explore, create and spend money (fake of course) at the museum. The staff is really friendly, accomidating and just a great bunch of people. It's inspiring to see the growth of my 2 year old and how much she has learned by being active at the museum. And how she can share!! And my 6 year old loves it just as much with all the things she can learn too! It brings out their creative side and they don't even realize they are learning through the process of play. Thank you for giving access to the suburbs a great facility that gives kids a chance to learn through interactive means.

The Oak Lawn Children's Museum is a terrific development for our community. From the initial concept, to the efforts to build, to those who now enjoy the positive recreational and educational benefits, it has been about families. My wife and I love children's museums and are now so proud to take our children to this fantastic one in Oak Lawn. We hear constantly from families who have attended and enjoyed a very positive experience. As the Mayor of Oak Lawn, I am so proud of all those who made this a reality and continue to do so on a daily basis because it shows that we believe in giving wonderful amenities like this to our children, who should always come first.

My experience with The Children's Museum in Oak Lawn has been nothing but positive. The Museum is a place for families and children to think outside the box and serves as an educational resource for the community. We gave "All in the Family" memberships to our three married children (and a grandparents membership to ourselves), and I am happy to say they are being put to good and continuous use. Our grandchildren not only had an enjoyable time with their siblings and parents, they want to go back. Their parents have also expressed their great pleasure in observing the children's joy in learning. I have often made trips in my capacity as an officer of the Museum and had the opportunity to observe the parents as well as the children. The mon's and dad's seemed to be enjoying the awareness that comes over their children as the play and learn with the Museums many interactive exhibits. Unsolicited positive comments are made by our visitors and the "proof of the pudding" is that before they leave for the day they want to become members of our museum. They want to make an investment in their children through us and that is a wonderful feeling in itself.

The museum is a wonderful place for children to explore their environment. Given we live in the Midwest, snow is easy to come by in the winter. It's wonderful to bring the children to a place that's always 70 degrees and sunny inside. Also, as a parent of a special needs toddler, the Museum is ideal of introducing kids to a variety of toys and activities that enhance fine and gross motor skills, as well as interaction with other children.

One of the BEST kept secrets on the south side ! The pure interactive learning exhibits provide you and your child a chance to let your creativity flow. The parent will have as much fun as the child. Planning a party for your child ? This is the place to do it at. The museum staff are always available to help out and the customer service is #1.Plenty of parking is also available. You need to stop by before the secret gets out !!

I take my girls to the Museum at least once a month. The new location is fantastic! They've managed to offer plenty of great new exhibits while still keeping the coziness of their previous location. Its perfect place to take young kids and its the sort of place you can come back to over and over.

My experiences at the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn have always been positive. I recently brought the preschool where I am the director to the museum. The children had a wonderful time. Knowing that CMOL has designed the exhibits with the Illinois Learning Standards in mind, makes the experience even better.

Being a member of the Children's Museum Board is a very proud item for me. Each time I visit the museum or hear about the progress and up to date happenings, I am so pleased to have a small part of this great museum. It has been a great asset to the community for children and their families. What a prize possession for the Village of Oak Lawn!

The Children's Museum in Oak Lawn is a great place for a family to spend quality time together, and it's rather inexpensive. Whether it's roleplaying in the theater or learning how to drill a hole in a board in the workshop, kids have so much fun they don't even realize they're learning!

My children absolutely love coming to the museum. My 7-year old daughter can't get enough of the vet area and my 14-year-old son enjoys the "Race is On" area (which teaches concepts of physics, such as momentum, motion and friction.)
