Causes: Community Mental Health Centers, Mental Health
Mission: The mission at the Children's Home is to provide exceptional mental and behavioral health care to all children, guided by a team of dedicated and compassionate professionals. We are committed to ensuring that every child receives the highest standard of support and care.
Target demographics: Children and families struggling with mental health regardless of their financial status.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Last year, we provided 60 families with $69,482 in financial subsidies, and 44% of our client-base is on Medicaid.
Geographic areas served: Idaho
Programs: Out-patient counseling and therapy services for children and their families, with an emphasis on those lacking the resources to pay for services. We also provide peer youth groups and farm and nature based therapy. We have a school based program where we have clinicians in Title 1 schools across the Treasure Valley. With this program we can meet youth where they are and remove one of the most commonly identified obstacles: reliable transportation. Through our internship program, we are addressing the mental health provider shortage by building a sustainable pipeline of professionals to support the growing needs of our community. We have a training program that ensures continuing education to therapists by offering a series of professional development seminars. A unique emphasis of this continuing education program is its collaboration with Idaho universities, school districts, state agencies, family physicians, pediatricians, and other non-profit organizations that serve children and families. The Children's Home strives to be the first choice for training in behavioral health issues affecting children, families, and those who serve them.
