Mission: Is dedicated to improving lives of children and families affected by pediatric stroke and other causes of hemiplegia and to improving lives of adults who have had a diagnosis of hemiplegia since childhood.
Programs: Direct support to families, children, and adults with hemiplegia 1. College and vocational school scholarships to 16 young adults with a diagnosis of hemiplegia 2. Athletic scholarships to 6 athletes with a diagnosis of hemiplegia 3. National family retreat scholarships to 21 families so they could attend retreat 4. Local and regional support groups including a mom's weekend and family activities allow families to meet and share support and information 5. 280 attendees at national family retreat that allows children and families to meet and share support and information 6. Orthotic (hand and foot brace) grants to 8 children with a diagnosis of hemiplegia or pediatric stroke 7. Kandu - stuffed animal sent to 250 children for encouragement 8. Educational information and support provided to over 8000 families through online discussion groups, 1 national and 30 regional social networking groups, 10 topic specific social networking groups, and three websites
