Mission: The children's fund, inc. Is organized and operated to support all types of organizations formed to provide medical and social care for the needy and deserving children in the greater houston metropolitan area. Recipient organizations are nominated by the sponsors (volunteer membership) of the children's fund, inc. A charity selection committee screens the nominated recipients and their written proposals and conducts interviews of the prospective recipients. The charity selection committee makes its recommendations to the children's fund, inc. 's board of directors. The board and the sponsors (membership) must then approve all selected recipients.
Programs: Grant program: the children's fund, inc. Focuses on charities with small budgets, minimal fund-raising ability, small administrative departments, lack of government or other charity support, and lack of exposure to the business community. These charities provide medical, educational and social care for needy children in the greater houston metropolitan area.
