This will be the 5th ponytail I'll be donating My Mom & Dad both had cancer and I want to help someone who needs a wig so they can feel more comfortable.
I used to donate to Locks of love but no longer do because they charge for their wigs for children. Im so happy to donate to this worthy cause. I have not had my haircut since November 2019 and finally had it cut yesterday May 26, 2021. (18 months of growth). I wanted to be sure there was enough to cut off to send in a 12 inch length so I kept delaying getting it cut. My hairdresser put my hair in a nice braid and it will go out in tomorrows mail.
A couple years ago I made the choice to donate ten inches of hair to kids who had lost their hair, I chose to donate through this organization because I knew it wasn't like the other charities that threw out most of the hair that was donated. One day I hope I can meet the child that got my hair as a wig, because I want to tell them how proud I am of themforfighting everyday.
I got my hair cut 9 and a half inches and was going to send it to locks of love until I was told that it charges kids for wigs instead of donating it. I am really thankful for the CWHL community for donating wigs to children that would really like hair but don't have any. This is my first time donating my hair and i will most certainly do it again.
I shave my hair every other year. I used to donate to Locks of Love, but stopped when I found out that people have to pay for the wigs. Then I found Children with hair Loss and I have been donating my hair to them ever since. (I am pretty sure I saw somebody wearing my hair!) The picture I added is my hair right now. I am goiing to shave it it June or July! Almost 2 feet!
We wanted to donate our hair to a charity that does not charge recipients. My girls have donated to Pantene, Wigs for kids as well as locks for love- before I knew they charged. They have donated multiple times. We will NEVER donate anywhere else. I was able to order a shirt, a patch and donate to the recipients! My youngest always gets about 9-10 inches, 12 is really hard for her so this organization is PERFECT!
My daughter has finally decided to donate some of her hair. We were looking for an organization that was local and that didn't charge patients for the wigs. I heard about Hair Loss for Kids through a local company called Nells Wigs and Boutiques and knew this was the perfect organization to donate to!
What a wonderful organization that does not profit from donations of money or hair! Please check our CWHL and watch the videos of these kiddos receiving this precious gift!

My sister Regina Villemure, is the founder of Children With Hairloss. She has always wanted to help anyone in need. Years before Children With Hairloss was founded, she had a dream that she could use her skills as a hairdresser and shop owner to help children. That dream has come true!
When my daughter was three years old, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphbloastic Leukemia. She wasn't given much hope to survive and was on chemo for five years. During that time, she lost all of her hair. Wigs or hairpieces were out of the question because they didn't fit and were not designed for kids. At that time, Regina wanted to do something to give my daughter back her hair. My daughter is a cancer survivor and Regina founded Children Wtih Hairloss--two great success stories!
Years later, Regina founded Children Wtih Hailoss . She works very hard giving up her own time and money to help the children who are in need. Whenever a child comes to her, she always finds a way to help them. Unlike the other charities, there is not a charge to the parents. I am very proud of my sister and all of her accomplishments. Her work with Children With Hairloss is directly from her heart!
