I had a wonderful experience with Children of Peru! I've traveled throughout Peru + knew firsthand how desperately help is needed there. I'm so grateful to them for the chance to help + also be a part of the Berlin Marathon, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Edouard was such a wonderful go between. My name is Maria Cavero and I am running 2022 NYC Marathon with Children of Peru Foundation. As a Peruvian, fundraising to support my home country is an honor. I know how much the kids need the funds. They will be my motivation to train and finish the 26.2 miles strong. Edouard has been amazing since day 1. Please consider donating. This is an amazing cause.

Edouard 09/06/2022
Maria, many thanks for this great comment!! We really appreciate your support!
I've joined the Children of Peru Foundation for the New York Marathon for a third year now. Every year, they have been incredibly supportive and helpful with navigating how to raise funds effectively. Additionally, their funds go towards really great causes in Peru. As someone who is from there, it's great to know that the fundraising efforts I contribute to are making a real impact in my country. I also really love how the organization updates us with where the funds are going and how their projects are doing. I hope to continue collaborating with them for years to come!

Edouard 09/06/2022
Thank you Lola for your nice words! we are very fortunate to have you as a supporter!!
Really good communication in less than an hour for Marathon Events. Also there is a clear understanding of where the funds are going to.

Thanks Andy for your kind words. We appreciate your continued support!
The Children of Peru Foundation does a fantastic work with its partners in Peru to improve education and healthcare for thousands of underprivileged children. The pandemic was a very difficult time as all the marathons (biggest source of revenue of the foundation with al the runners fundraising) were cancelled, but the foundation managed to continue its support in those difficult times.
The Children of Peru (CoP) Foundation has been a long-time partner. Together, we have been able to impact the lives of thousands of children who would not have access to the type of care and services without CoP's consistent and generous support.

Edouard 11/04/2021
Many thanks MMFC for this great review! We really appreciate it and are very proud of our partnership and what was accomplished over all these years. See you next year in August hopefully!

I’ve gotten to know this organization from donating my time as a nurse in Peru.
Working with children with Cleft lips and palates. Without there help we would not be able to provide all the care to children and families in such need.

My name is Jim Dickerson, I am a Pediatric Dentist and a member of the Medical Missions for Children team in Cusco Peru for the last 15 years. We are sponsored by The Children of Peru Foundation and have provided surgeries and dental care for thousands of children in need, free of charge. I was fortunate to meet Mr. Ruelle on one of these mission trips and through CoPF made a connection with Manos Unidas,a school for children with disabilities (which is also sponsored by CoPF). We have been able to provide dental care which had previously been denied for all these children. Most recently my family has joined me in fundraising, running the NYC half marathon, because we know the great impact the foundation is making and we see how effectively they are using every fundraising dollar

Many thanks for this great review. We are very proud of our partnership with Samusocial Peru and with the work accomplished together over the years helping underprivileged children and their families in Peru! Thank you again.
We have a historical and permanent relationship with the Children of Perú Foundation. The Children of Peru Foundation has been helping finance us since 2004 when our organization was created and began to work in Huaycan, a "spontaneous" neighborhoods (slums) in Lima - Perú. Since then, the Children of Peru Foundation has always been with us, financing and supporting our job and encouraging us to improve and reach more vulnerable people.
Currently, we are working in the slums of the district of Santa Rosa, in the north of Lima. We focus our work on women and children in highly vulnerable situations.
We are Samusocial Perú and we aim to fight against social exclusion and promote the right to health for all, bringing basic services closer to the population. We work in spontaneous" neighborhoods (slums) in Lima where families live with a long list of difficulties:: precarious living conditions, few economic resources, geographical isolation, low level of education, the disintegration of the family structure and social ties, and limited access to basic services (water, electricity, waste disposal, but also health, education, and transport).

Edouard 10/26/2021

Children of Peru is gathering an energetic and smart team with a very meaningful purpose : they put their heart at concretely changing lives in Peru. Every encounter with the team is filling me with enthusiasm. I am proud having been a regular donor over the last seven years. Over this period of time, I have received more (positive energy) than I have given (donations, which I know have been well utilized for making concrete changes for children who really need them). My name is Helen John-Kelly and I am a pediatric gastroenterologist by training. I am also the medical director for Medical Missions for Children, a Boston based non for profit that provides free medical and surgical care to children and young adults with cleft lip , cleft palates, microtia( absence of ears ) across the globe. We have worked with Edouard and Children of Peru for 15 years and having the support from Children of Peru has enabled us to provide free care to Peruvians primarily in Cusco and in the recent past in Cajamarca.
I am also the team leader on the missions to Peru and what a privilege it has been for me personally to work with Edouard and his family. He has always been open to new ideas and has always given us his pledge to help the local handicapped children and children from local orphanages receive free dental care through us. It is very unfortunate that we were not able to be in Cusco this year but I sincerely hope to be back there next year and take care of the children whose parents are eagerly waiting for us to return.Your support of Children of Peru is really vital and important as the work in Peru must continue. Thank you Children of Peru for supporting us in our vision to bring a smile to every child.

Hi! I am the executive director of Samusocial Perú, an association which works to bring medical and psychosocial cares closer to the excluded people in Lima suburbs. I really want to share my gratefullness and my esteem to the Children of Peru Foundation because it is the only donator which supports us continuously since the beginning in 2004. Their significative donations helped us to build a day and emergency reception center for women and children and to buy two ambulances and a van for our mobile aid teams.

Edouard 09/02/2020
Many thanks Matthias for those kind words. We are really proud of our long partnership and hope it will continue for many more years!
I believe they have a clear mission I and share their vision. Better health and education for kids in Perú. Glad to be a drop on that river of help.

Edouard 09/02/2020
Muchas gracias Joaquin for your continued support!! We really appreciate it.
I am Yessica Flores, co-founder of Kantaya, a Peruvian NGO that believes in the power of education.
Kantaya provides quality education, holistic development and a learning opportunity after-school to children in early and primary education in impoverished communities.
More than 1,000 children have been benefited.
With the COVID crisis, Children of Peru Foundation provided financial support to continue helping +320 children with Kantaya’s Remote Learning Plan.
The results are inspiring, children are motivated and committed to their education. They are happy feeling their teachers close and their parents helping them to get the best of their education.
Thanks Children of Peru Foundation and Edouard Roulle for believing in Kantaya and supporting us in this difficult time to Peru and our children.

Edouard 09/02/2020
Thanks Yessica for your good words! We believe Kantaya & the Children of Peru Foundation will achieve great things together.
I have ran the NYC 1/2 marathon for the Children of Peru Foundation for 2 years, in 2010 and 2014. Both times, it was a great experience and even more satisfying because I was helping the poor children of my beloved country.
Running for charity is always a great way to give back and as a Peruvian even more rewarding. Even if you are not Peruvian and wish to run for charity and help the children - Pick the Children of Peru Foundation - it is a great organization to join.
Best wishes and keep running!!

I'm Nils, a french donor. I've decided to help the Children of Peru Foundation because I like the way they drive their activities. All the projects are clearly explained, and all the achievements are shared. Therefore I always know, to what I did contribute. And I feel comfortable with this system. I feel I'm usefull to help the peruvian children who need it.
I had been thinking of running the NYC Half-Marathon for a while and had not decided what charity I wanted to run for... I did some research on a few charities and decided I would go with the Children of Peru Foundation. Both of my parents were born in Peru and I am extremely proud of my Peruvian heritage. I felt it was a great opportunity to help spread the word on the wonderful things that this organization does for poverty stricken communities in Peru. It provides much needed medical services for a number of underprivileged children. It is not often that Peru gets a whole lot of coverage and while it is a country that is very beautiful and rich in natural resources; there exists a great deal of poverty and socio-economic disparity.
At the time I made the decision to run, my Dad was very ill and knowing that I would be doing something to benefit his native country made him quite happy and proud. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away a few months prior to me running and this race became an even more personal mission.
I understand that we all have a number of options when it comes to choosing what charities we want to work with. That being said, I feel it is important to shed some light on the smaller organizations that don't always get the same amount of coverage but are doing extraordinary things around the world.
Sincerely,
Greta VelezDeVilla
Hi my name is Carla Peralta and not too long ago I found the best way to help the poor children of my Country, Peru. I had the opportunity to get in contact with Edouard Ruelle, president of the Children of Peru Foundation. It was through him that I learned of the great effort and the amazing work that they do in helping Peruvian kids in need. They improve the quality of their lives by giving them education and health.
Thanks to the Children of Peru Foundation that inspire me and gave me the motivation I needed to run my 1st marathon for them in Miami back in 2012. Since then, I run for them several times in different cities like NY and San Francisco.
I’m always be thankful to be a part of this and congratulations for your dedication and love for others! Gracias Edouard Ruelle !!!
I have run the New York City Half Marathon to raise money for Children of Peru Foundation three times. I discovered CPF after a trip to Peru in 2009. The organization does terrific work, and it is extremely motivating to raise funds for them while training for the race. The CPF employees I've corresponded with are all beyond friendly and helpful and always respond to questions without any delay. And Children of Peru Foundation is at the top of my list for my own personal giving. Simply a great, crucial organization.
My name is Victoria Foord and I work for Amantani, a small UK based organisation working to improve the education offered to children living high in the mountains of Southern Peru. We partnered with Children of Peru this year to construct a new Boarding House and new classrooms. From the beginning our relationship with Children of Peru has been absolutly fantastic. We have been in close communication with the Board this year and they have been incredibly supportive throughout the construction work. We cannot thank Children of Peru enough for the time and support they have given us!
I ran the NYC half marathon with Children of Peru in March 2014. Children of Peru was very giving of their time and extremely enthusiastic about their cause. Knowing I was raising money for a cause that will benefit many children in Peru, it got me excited about training and running the half marathon. Children of Peru is well-managed and I was pleased to find out after the half marathon that the monies raised went to fund their yearly Cuzco mission of doctors and surgeons - more than 60 kids were now able to get life changing surgeries. Children of Peru is truly making a difference. I look forward to working with them again.

My name is Fred Branson. I am a Co-Director of Amantani.org.uk, an organisation working to defend the rights of Quechua children in Southern Peru. In April 2014, Amantani partnered with the Children of Peru Foundation in order to develop our local infrastructure. It has been a real pleasure working with Edouard and the team at the Children of Peru Foundation. With their help we have been able to build a new Boarding House which includes accommodation for 44 girls, four new classrooms, a kitchen and a toilets/shower block. We're eternally grateful to the Children of Peru Foundation and their donors for helping us to vastly improve our efforts to improve education in marginalised communities in the Andes of Southern Peru.
I ran the NY half marathon with Children of Peru in 2014. They were a seamless organization to work with and made it easy to both compete and fund raise for a cause close to my heart. I look forward to working together with them again. - Anya
I am Nathalie Hoffet, I'm a french donor, and I decided to help the Children of Peru Foundation, because I trust in their commitment to help the peruvian childhood with strong transparency. I have peruvian roots, and I wanted to help this country. With the Children of Peru Foundation, I know where my money goes, and I feel myself usefull by donating to a project clearly defined. Every year I know what did the foundation and what are the projects for the year to come. I encourage everyone to have a look into their website, and to read what they've already done. It's incredible for such an organization.
I’m Catherine Louviot, the executive director of Samusocial Perú, one of the organizations that Children of Peru Foundation provides financial support to. We are working in partnership with the Children of Peru Foundation since 2007, and the co-founder and President Mr. Edouard Ruelle showed a real interest in our project and proved it visiting us in many opportunities. Further to one of this visit, last year, the foundation made a particular effort to permit us implement a new project in Santa Rosa, a marginalized urban area of northern Lima.
What was spectacular in this project is the social dynamic produced, enabling to mobilize the public medical services and the community. And now, through the Children of Peru Foundation’s support, there are more than 250 children suffering malnutrition, who hadn’t access to medical services, who now are receiving treatment and medical monitoring.
Samusocial Perú is very glad to work with such a committed organization to improve the social and health condition of vulnerable population living in Lima’s marginalized urban areas.
My name is Liz Desmarais, the former Executive Director of Medical Missions for Children (MMFC), one of the organizations that Children of Peru partners with and provides financial support to, so that many impoverished children in Peru can receive free surgeries and dental care. Even though I am no longer an official member of the MMFC team, I continue to donate to Children of Peru each year. Why? Quite simply, it is a wonderful, responsible, committed organization that puts its money towards important programs with great impact. I personally admire Mr. Ruelle who I know to be a man of character and commitment to those less fortunate than himself.
I came across the Children of Peru Foundation as a result of signing up for the Ironman Lake Tahoe triathlon. Having raised money for other charities in the past, I know first hand that this is a topnotch organization as it relates to fundraising, communication, and accountability. Edouard, the President based in New York, is responsive, organized and thorough. As a donor and fundraiser, I have found the website (http://www.childrenofperu.org/) and Facebook page for the Children of Peru Foundation informative and accurate.
My name is Roman Polnar and I partnered with Children of Peru to raise money for their efforts while training for an Ironman Lake Tahoe in US, CA. I chose to partner with Children of Peru because of their dedication to helping impoverished children gain a better, brighter, healthier, and happier childhood and future. I strongly believe that the future of our world, as a whole, is in the hands of our children - and its our responsibility to provide them with as much support and as many positive opportunities as possible. To that end, I am passionately supportive of this charity and their effort to improve children's quality of life through education and healthcare.
I am Giselle Del Carpio, I am from Lima Peru and I have been a volunteer for Medical Missions for children since 2006. I have known the Children of Peru Foundation because they sponsor every year the Cusco mission of MMFC, that makes possible for a great team of surgeons and dentists to help kids with clef lip and palate. These surgeries are life changing.
Children of Peru foundation is a great NGO that supports Peruvian children in many ways, providing health and education to Peruvian kids with special needs living in extreme poverty.
I am very proud and thankful for their achivements and very honored to work with them!
My name is Celeste Marion, I am the co-founder and executive director of Manos Unidas Peru in Cusco, Peru. We are an organization dedicated to the education and inclusion of children and young adults with intellectual disabilities in the region of Cusco. The Children of Peru Foundation has been a grantor to our project the last 2 years and there support has been vital to our success as an organization. Not only the monetary support but the trust we have developed between the CHOP board members and our organization. Children of Peru has been with us in our growing stages always supporting us emotionally as well as financially and we are so grateful for their support. The organization is run by fantastic true hearted and wise people, they are a benefit to the real children of Peru.
My name is Ana Teresa Forsyth, I am Peru’s coordinator for Medical Missions for Children. For several years now, we work closely with CPF and have had the opportunity of seeing their great interest, love and dedication to Peruvian children in need. I am honored to work with them!
My name is Marji Stark and I am honored to review The Children of Peru Foundation, Inc and the wonderful work they do. Three weeks ago, I ran the Big Sur International Marathon in Carmel, CA as a charity runner for TCOP. The Foundation made my fundraising efforts simple and seamless. The donations of my family and friends will fund four life changing surgeries! TCOP keep their administrative costs to a bare minimum in effort to assist more children. There are many ways to get involved with this charity, consider giving back through The Children of Peru Foundation!
My name is Liz Desmarais and I am the Executive Director of Medical Missions for Children, Inc. (MMFC) a Massachusetts-based 501 (C)(3) nonprofit that sends volunteer teams of medical professionals around the world to provide free surgeries and dental care to underprivileged children.
Seven years ago, MMFC partnered with Children of Peru Foundation (CPF) to send one such mission to Cuzco, Peru. CPF has sponsored this mission annually since then.
I work directly with co-founder and President Mr. Edouard Ruelle. He is a tireless and determined philanthropist whose efforts at building awareness and raising funds for CPF have resulted in 1000's of children in Peru receiving life-changing and in some instances, life-saving medical and dental care. CPF is a hands-on and meticulous advocate for the children of Peru. CPF's expectation of top-notch medical service, organizational transparency and capacity-building efforts within Peru have served to elevate all of our efforts on every level.
MMFC is privileged to work with CPF in service to some of the neediest children in Peru.
