I get food from CHOP every week. I am on Social security disability. CHOP provides nutritious food to thousands of needy families.
CHOP Out Hunger started out serving 45 kids in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Currently, CHOP is providing food to 45,000 kids weekly. It's inspiring and heartwarming to see firsthand how the resources CHOP provides directly impact the children in our communities. By feeding their bellies, they're able to shift their focus to other areas of their wellbeing and flourish.
CHOP Out Hunger goes above and beyond to ensure its community members are fed. Between partnering with schools, churches, libraries, and local businesses and opening their warehouse space to other neighboring nonprofits, CHOP is an incredible member of the communities they serve.
My experiences with CHOP Towanda began in 2020 during the Pandemic. As time went on, some churches began drive through food distributions too. CHOP was poised to step in where others were not. CHOP fed hundreds of people who really didn’t know where else to get their groceries. They did so with incredibly positive attitudes and were uber-respectful of clients and their questions. They continued their efforts long after the pandemic and continue rotating pop up pantries even today. The groceries curated are a very useful assortment of pantry items, mostly trusted name brands. Occasionally meat and fresh produce items are available. There is always some protein included. They also have in school pantries and I’ve heard from people that have used them who have been so grateful to not be hungry at school. Or on the weekends with the backpack program. I can’t thank them enough for their continued help meeting the food insecurity income gap. Their efforts are so appreciated and invaluable to Bradford County PA.
