Mission: Our mission is to ensure that every child lives a life free from abuse and neglect. Caps accomplishes this through education, advocacy, and intervention with families and the community to support safe, stable,nurturing relationships for all children.
Programs: Healthy families- home based support and education program for new parents who are overwhelmed and at risk for abuse/neglect. Nationally accredited program proven to prevent child abuse and neglect. Families receive service for 3 years. 700 families served in 2013
building blocks laboratory preschool. - an intensive therapeutic program for emotionally fragile children. Parents participate in home visits and parenting classes. Laboratory component trains care providers from community preschools and day care centers. 25 families and 114 professionals and college interns served annually. 433 children and 58 adults were indirectly impacted in 2013
court appointed special advocate (casa) - volunteers serve as advocates for children involved in the court system as a result of abuse/neglect. Training and supervision of volunteers provided by staff. Program provides advocacy for 100% of the children in need in elkhart county. 432 children served and 130 volunteers supervised in 2013.
