Mission: To encourage and promote safe bicycle riding as an alternative to cars for transportation, as well as for recreation and health, through education and advocacy.
Results: KidsPedal program provides bike safety education in schools and at events. Trailworks program performs trail development, maintenance and improvements, and trail use etiquette education. Bike Valet program provides free bike valet parking at local events. Light Up Chico program has given out over 2000 bike lights to people who cannot afford them. Chico Velo Foundation has given out approximately 25 grants for a total of approximately $25000 over the last 5 years, to aid local individuals and organizations with bike-related programs and projects. Advocacy efforts with local and state agencies have produced bike-friendly infrastructure to maintain Gold status in League of American Bicyclists Bike-Friendly-City program.

Programs: Bicycle Safety taining events and talks at schools, businesses and events, free Bike Valet parking at local events, trail and bike path maintenance and improvement work days and both free and 'entry fee' bicycle events open to the general public to encourage bike use. Organized to promote public awareness and educate participants to bicycle safety and alternative transportation.
