Mission: To provide artistically gifted, diverse chicago high school students intensive pre-professional training in the arts, combined with a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum
Programs: The academic curriculum provides students with a rigorous college preparatory education. Chiarts utilizes a research-based multi-year curriculum in each discipline ensuring instructional sequencing across grade levels and alignment with college readiness standards and transitioning to the common core state standards. We differentiate instruction in multi-level classes and also offer honors in the 9th-12th grade and ap classes for academically advanced students in the 10th-12th grade. In addition, chiarts offers academic support classes in math and reading for students requiring additional support and tutoring for science, math, and writing.
the arts program is designed to be a pre-professional training program. Chiarts offers the following disciplines: dance, music, theatre, visual arts, and creative writing. The students participate in a rigorous nine hour day which includes three hours of intense conservatory training. The arts curriculum is designed by working professional artists and includes course work in technique, theory, history, and performance fundamentals.
