I have had the pleasure of working with CAPE for several years through a partnership liaison role and as a volunteer. CAPE is so special to me because the people who work for and volunteer for CAPE are such great, motivated, and passionate people. With their hard work, CAPE has had an amazing impact on the Chicago community, the schools, and the children and their families. When I am involved in CAPE functions, it is so clear how positive of a change they are making on a day to day basis. I've had great conversations with teaching artists and students and have learned a lot from both!

I volunteered at an interactive exhibit with CAPE and it was truly great to see the kids so excited to participate in making their own art. A moment that stuck out to me was one of the kids saying "this is my first time at a real art exhibit, I am so excited." Speaking with the teachers there is an obvious genuine and loving feel to CAPE events and all you need to do is look at any of the kids faces to see that there is important work being done at CAPE. Providing a space where children can not only create their own work but collaborate with their peers really provides a safe place for the children to grow creatively.

I have been a Board member at Chicago Arts Partnership in Education for several years. I am proud to be a member of an organization that is committed to improving the educational experience for students in need. The staff and my fellow Board members work tirelessly and inspire me contribute in any way that I can. I cannot think of a better organization to which to devote my time and resources.
