My husband and I adopted a shy little (well, not so little at the time) Chihuahua in November 2013. She was the first dog that we had gotten and we were dating at the time. Her name is Peanut and she was in a neglectful home. She was morbidly obese and scared when The Chi Society reacued her. We got her a couple months after she was reacued and her wonderful foster had already done so much to get Peanut back in good health- she had aready lost a few lbs and was coming out of her shell! Now, three years later, Peanut is 11 years old and weighs 7 lbs and is the absolute light of our lives! We love her so much. She is happy and rambunctious and certainly not shy anymore! We are so happy we drove all the way to CT to get her (we live in upstate NY) from The Chi Society. They do such amazing work and save so many dogs from uncertain fates. I still talk with the president and with her foster frequently, and they are still willing to help and give advice three years later! I just can't say enough good things about them- we love The Chi Society!! -Gwenn T.
