Mission: Charter Oak Cultural Center is a catalyst for social change. We honor the world's cultures - including our own Jewish heritage - by making multi-cultural arts and educational programs accessible to all. We embrace a passionate commitment to social justice and bring people together from among our region's richly diverse cultural groups. To put it simply, our mission is to give access to the arts to all people and to bring people together in love and understanding. Our exceptional multi-cultural programming reflects that goal. Charter Oak's arts, culture, community-building and social justice initiatives provide opportunities for Greater Hartford residents of every race, religion, class, gender, ability and sexual orientation to find their own voice, claim their own power, give expression to their distinctive cultures, and join with others to create a rich, shared urban experience.
