After having to repeatedly inquire, this rescue finally sent me the dog I wanted to adopt. He didn’t come with any papers except a crumpled up intake form and was infected with the parasite giardia, which quickly spread to my other dogs. Unsuccessful treatment has cost me a fortune and they will not refund adoption fee. Stay away from this rescue.
Hilary and her group are fantastic with the dogs! I’ve seen them take in dogs with severe mange and turned them into gorgeous adoptable and loving dogs! They are simply ahh maze ing!
Charming Pet Rescue is an amazing organization that gives new life to animals at risk! From death row to new homes they do it best!
Charming pet rescue was the first rescue that gave me and my family the chance to become a foster, they are so dedicated to their cause, it’s been an amazing journey to help them and come to find out those pups in need of a foster home actually help me become the person I want to be. I love Charming pet rescue.
Saw a dog on their website that I could not get out of my head. She apparently had been abused, and only three legs. Hillary advertise that she would take care of the dog for the rest of her life if someone could take her home. I didn’t need the financial help, but Hillary called to check on her. When I thought I had lost her, she offered to drive over and help me find her. “Hillary-This precious dog’s name is perfect to me, and charming pet rescue sacrifices so much to care for needy dogs
We adopted our 1st dog from Hilary and Charming Pet Rescue 9-2016 after becoming a foster failure. We were so amazed by how Hilary runs the shelter we started to volunteer. Then another foster failure happened again 3-2017. To see the animals run free in the yards and home makes this such a wonderful stepping stone for the animals. Very caring and loving rescue.

I love charming pet rescue and all Hilary & everyone does! So much love for all the babies they save and take in! I’ve never felt so happy and proud to be part of such an amazing team! They helped me find great loving homes for my two labs! Just an all round amazing team with loving awesome people! ❤️❤️
Hilary at Charming Pet Rescue does an amazing job transforming lost, scared, unwanted pets into beautiful, social babies adopting out to forever homes! I’VE SEEN IT! Donate or volunteer to her organization. Thank you!
I have adopted 4 dogs from
Charming Pet Rescue! Because of her love of all animals, especially dogs, I began volunteering 4 years ago and now I am heavily involved with the rescue. It is a wonderful place for animals to be rehabilitated, socialized with people of all ages and to find a new loving home anywhere in the US! Hilary is an awesome Director with such a sense about dogs and people that she can make the perfect match between. Adopters and dogs! I have worked with many rescues over the years, but this one is by far the best!

I have adopted 3 dogs from Charming Pet Rescue. This is the best rescue in the area and cares about the people adopting the dogs as much as the dogs! Hilary will talk to potential adopters to make sure the dog matches the adopter so that there are no surprises on either side! Sometimes adopters want a dog based in breed or looks but after talking to Hilary realize what they really want is completely different! Hilary and her volunteers all have huge hearts and I am glad to know them!
I will feel forever grateful to Charming Pet Rescue and Hilary. I was feeling so desperate and emotional when I needed to place my 2 year old up for adoption. Hilary, who is a friend of my Niece, Mary, also rescued me with the knowledge that she would find my Molly (now Polly) a forever home. She did just that and Poly is happy and safe with her forever family. Gods Blessings always Charming Pet Rescue .

Hillary is amazing, in an urgent situation with a momma dog and five babies she was quick to act fast and all dogs were rescued.
I was looking on Adopt a Pet for a lab as my own personal cuddlebug as well as a play buddy for my 10 month old shephard pup. An adorable 4 month old lab mix (Bluebell) showed up on one of my searches. Within 2 days of submitting my adoption application, Hilary let me know I was approved to adopt. She answered all my questions and quickly scheduled transport of Bluebell from Texas to Washington. She kept me updated on the transport schedule and put me in touch with the foster family who kindly provided more information on Bluebell so it was a smooth transition. I've had Bluebell for 2 weeks now and she's everything i wanted. My shepherd pup adores her and is just as in love with her as I am. Hilary was great communicating throughout the adoption process and it's obvious she cares deeply for animals. I'd adopt from her again without any question.
A couple of years ago we had to rehome a dog that just wasn't fitting with our family. As much as we didn't want to give up on her we also didn't want to cause her harm or undue stress. We surrendered her to Charming Pet Rescue and within 2 days I got a message from Hilary saying they had found a great home for our dog. So thankful they were able to help!!!
I have been so impressed with how professional and caring everyone at Charming Oet Rescue is. It’s so awesome how much they care and work so hard to help as many animals as possible. They do everything to make sure adoptions are the right fit and are always available to answer questions.
The people at Charming Pets Rescue really go out of there way to help in saving the precious lives that so many turn a blind eye too, the love and care they put into each and every one of these animals is commendable on it's own!!! Thank you for caring for all Gods beautiful creatures!!!
I have chosen to volunteer at the Charming Pet Rescue because it is an in-home shelter. It is a medium size shelter so all the dogs get plenty of attention. I have fostered and adopted from this rescue and I am very happy with the outcome. Hilary, the Director is always hands on and she knows the personality and needs of every dog that arrives to her shelter.
Our latest adittion to our family is a cute white Chihuahua from the Charming Pet Rescue. Her name is Hina because she is white like the moon.
I’m going to tell my own story......
Once upon a time, I had a sweet mother who saved all of the cats and kittens in the neighborhoods of all the houses we ever lived in. She would also bring home an occcasinal dog, Lovey being the most notable as she had to sneak her out of a school yard by stuffing her under her shirt. The mean coach had kicked and thrown the dog, and was bitten so he wanted animal control to put her down. I learned a lot about helping the helpless from my mom. As an adult I would also take in the occasional stray cat or kitten and find them homes, the more years that passed the more frequently I was doing it. I got married and we had a little girl. When she was about 3, she started wanting to play with the cats and would try to get them to chase her and play back, the cats weren’t cooperating so my husband and I decided to go rescue a dog from the Humane Society. Not wanting to overwhelm ourselves, we chose a docile, sweet old man dog named Charming. He was heartworm positive and also had a seizure condition. Needless to say, Charming found a comfy spot on the rug and was content to sleep there alllll day! I convinced my husband that we needed ONE more dog, in addition to Charming. On the quest to find ONE more dog, I discovered there were SO MANY good family dogs that were homeless and in shelters. I was shocked! I found several dogs that rugged at my heart and long story short, within 5 months we had adopted, Charming, Fiona, Bell, Fozzy and Duke. My family thought I had lost my mind, and looking back, I think I did! My mom had a friend that fostered and my mom called her to talk some sense into me but what she did was encouraged me to foster as well, that way I could still save dogs and not own them all. The first dog I fostered was Sasha. She was a doll! I only had her about 3 weeks and a lovely couple drove down from Austin to adopt her. I LOVED IT! I couldn’t get another foster fast enough! Over that year, which was 2013, I fostered for several different rescues in the area, learning from each and gaining knowledge on fostering and the different ways things can be done. Still along the way I would help find strays homes and doing my own thing, when at last it became so much easier to operate on my own then having to coordinate with the rescue on what needed to be done. March 20, 2015 I decided, this is happening, and I gave us a name, Charming Pet Rescue. Charming after our first sweet rescue and Pet, instead of dog, because I rescued both dogs and cats and now have even rescued pigs! In September 2015 we got our 501c3. Of course no one says, “cool! You started a rescue, here’s $20,000 to getcha set up”, so I started like every one else with a few kennels stacked in my living room, which turned into a few stacked in the bedroom and front room until we cleared out the downstairs room and turned it into the kennel room, which it was until 2 GLORIOUS weeks ago when a big goal was achieved and I now have an insulated outdoor 10x20 air conditioned building that the dog’s sleep in. Over the years I have put down some good roots and my rescue is becoming more recognized and I have raised money for several shelter improvements within my “in home shelter”. I now have a sectioned off dog yard with covered 10x10 kennels, I’ve replaced 2 falling down chain link fences with sturdy privacy fence, I have a nice shed for storage, a privacy area for mamas with puppies or overly timid dogs, my glorious outdoor kennel building and at the end of this month I have another fence being built that will enclose another part of our yard prividing an additional dog yard. Last year, in 2017 we saved close to 600 dogs and I’m not sure what we are up to this year but I can’t wait to get the final total! Running a rescue is HARD work and some days I want to cry and some days I jump for joy, like yesterday when I had FOUR dogs adopted!!! So this is my story, and my heart.
And they ALL lived happily ever after.
We fostered for Charming Pet Rescue but we were foster failures pretty quick. We had so many choices to foster but I kept seeing this one calm girl. I knew she would be perfect to foster. She was too perfect Haha. We love Miss Patty now. And with how many dogs Charming Pet helps save I know everyone could find a dog they love!
Firstly, my little Buster (daschund/lab) was fully vetted (including any/all paperwork) and transported to me in Canada with no complications, by an amazing and organized group of compassionate volunteers.
Second, he was exactly as they’d described and fitted in with our family (including other dogs) beautifully. We can’t imagine our lives without him!
Third, Charming Pet Rescue follows up and loves to hear updates on their dogs, and will take them back, when necessary and try again for successful adoption! I couldn’t be more delighted to have found them and have referred my friends and family to this organization.
My next dog will come from Charming, I have zero doubt. So much love for Charming Pet Rescue and my little Buster!!
I first met Hillary of Charming Pet Rescue before she even had a name. Her and her family had been rescuing dogs off the streets of San Antonio 1 and 2 at a time. We were lucky enough to rescue one after we'd lost a beloved furbaby.
She let us bring our furbabies to her house for a meet and greet. She talked with us alot about her dream of being able to go "bigtime".
Over the last several years, she has made her dream become a reality. She got her rescue named, and applied for her 501c3. In that time she has rescued so many dogs, cats, and even cute little pigs! She has worked so hard and moved dogs all over the US and Canada in order to ensure they got amazing homes!!
I am so pleased, I send anyone I know that is looking for a new furry family member her way and my family is hoping to adopt another of her little furries here in the next month or so if all goes well!!!
Everyone should adopt from Charming Pet Rescue because who couldn't use a "Happily Ever After"? :)
We had an opportunity to adopt an older dog from charming pet rescue in Texas. It was one of the best decisions we've ever made. Sometimes people deserve to be recognized for the incredibly hard life work they've chosen in the field of animal rescue and the selfless love they provide. Charming pet rescue is a rescue which loves....
I met Hilary, owner of Charming Pet Rescue at an adoption event a few years back. Eventually I started volunteering for her rescue. I loved how all of her dogs were allowed to be in her house. They were
out of bad weather and the Texas heat, sleeping safe and sound while they were showered with love from Hilary and her family. All of the dogs are around Hilary's kiddos and she makes sure they are kid and family friendly.
Last but not least, Hilary has a love for senior dogs. She brings them in with intentions and hopes of getting them adopted, which a lot of them do. However sometimes they remain at the rescue for a long time, all the while being cared by Hilary. One day I told Hilary I was thinking about fostering a small dog of hers. She picked up this precious little blue colored Chihuahua and said "meet Blue". She told me that she had Blue for two years in the rescue. She kept getting over looked probably because of her age at a young 10 years old (because she Wawa's can live up to 18 + years) and she also had congestive heart failer. I figured why not, I'll foster her. Well after about 3 days I had already fallen in love with Blue, now known as my Bluebell. I called Hiary and told her I wanted to adopt her and that she wasn't getting her back. Lol. Of course Hilary was thrilled. Bluebell takes medicine daily for her heart and is doing awesome.
No one would ever know she has a little bit if a health problem. Bluebell loves baths, taking walks, going on car rides & taking road trips, she loves her chew bones, belly rubs and we discovered she enjoys swimming and boating this summer as well. She loves me almost as much as I love her! Bluey is my little soulmate and we have a very special bond. I feel there was a reason why she spent two years in the rescue. We we're meant to be and I can not thank Hilary and Charming Pet Rescue enough for the love, care, opportunities and second chances that she gives the dogs who were abandon, homeless, surrendered, etc. Thank you so much Charming Pet Rescue and for my beautiful Bluebell!!!!
I'm a mother of a boy and girl, ages 5 & 10. My daughter had been asking for a dog for years. To be honest, I didn't really give it a thought. I wasn't an animal person so I couldn't have an animal in my house! Then a friend of ours adopted a dog from Charming Pet Rescue and started to share pictures and videos. I secretly started looking... I was touched by this amazing woman who opened her HOME, where she's raising her kids, to homeless, unwanted, unloved dogs....and lots of them. It didn't take long before we saw Gus. My husband claimed him as our dog within hours of seeing him and I knew this was happening...I, of all people, was gonna become a dog owner. It took weeks to arrange his transport and we were on vacation when he arrived. We showed everyone his picture just like we already had him, yet we still hadn't met him. When we did finally meet him, he came to us wagging his tail and we all fell in love. This little dog means the world to us. Because Hilary is kind enough to take dogs of the street, we have a wonderful dog we all love, and Gus has a home where he couldn't be loved more. Thank you Charming Pet Rescue!
We fell in love with Snow when we saw her picture and read her story. We live in PEI, Canada, but Hilary was amazing by getting her transported to us and explaining the whole process. I can’t imagine our family without our little Snow... thank you!!
We adopted our sweet pup from Hilary in July of 2016. From the first time that we spoke on the phone I knew she had a heart full of love for all of her fur babies and puts her soul into caring for them. When the time came to visit, she welcomed us in and knows every single one of her dog’s temperaments, personalities, likes/dislikes, etc., which is pretty amazing considering she has around 30 dogs on average at any given time. We brought Madison home with us that very same day and stay in touch with Hilary via photos and texts. She loves to hear updates about her past babies and we are so blessed to have discovered Charming Pet Rescue and watch them grow. Cheers to you Hilary and for all you do!!
I was heading home from work, the night before heading out of town and I came across an injured dog on the side of the road. I panicked and knew I had to help her- because I was headed out of town I knew I could rely on Hilary. She took in the dog within an hour of me calling her. I am so grateful for someone who has a heart so big! We need more like YOU Hilary!
Charming Pet Recue is absolutely amazing. I live all the way in Dallas, so not close to them yet I have so much love and respect for them. This year I even held a Birthday fundraiser on Facebook and we met our goal. Helping these sweet babies and being able to help Charming Pet Rescue makes my heart happy. They deserve so much for all they do.
Some good friends recently adopted a dog from Charming Pet Rescue and had a great experience. Hilary runs a wonderful home rescue and is always so willing to help the animals that need it the most. She has the biggest heart for animals and the city is fortunate to have Charming Pet Rescue.
Charming Pet Rescue has helped me on numerous occasions but the one that stands out the most is when I rescued 4 dogs who were abandoned in a house , left to fend for themselves. Two were left in a closet and ate their way out. The others were starving to death also in kennels. I didn’t know what I was going to do with these dogs. When I called upon CPR, Hilary helped me without hesitation. She was even able to eventually find homes for them. I really don’t know how she does what she does. I have been to her place and it’s amazing but a non stop job!!!! Anyone that can help donate to her I know she is always forever appreciative! Thank you for saving so many for us Hilary. ❤️
Hillary, owner of Charming Pet Rescue, out of Boerne, just amazes me. She has a family and yet manages to love every dog, and sometimes cat, she brings in. She is quick to respond to rescue a dog. Her yard has been made to house 30+ dogs. And never do the dogs go neglected. I really don't know how she does it. She loves everyone of these precious creatures!
I adopted an 8 week old puppy over a year ago from charming pet and he got parvo soon after I took him home because I mistakenly took him to a dog park to soon. Charming pet took him in and healed him back to health in a time I was terrified that he was going to pass away. Months later I decided to help foster a small dog and volunteer to help clean up around the rescue. The foster failed because I just had to keep this little guy as well! I also donated my birthday this year to them and was able to raise a couple hundred dollars for them! They deserve every bit of help they can get!
Hilary with charming pet rescue does so much to help animals. I wouldn’t have my best friend if it weren’t for her. She puts her whole life aside to help save lives. When my husband is deployed I have my best friend and protector to keep me company. I am so grateful for this rescue and everything they do. Thank you guys for everything!!!
Hillary was amazing and took two puppies that we found that were dumped . She has adopted out one of them and one is pending ..She is amazing with all her dogs she takes in and gets them fostered or adopted out quickly !!
We adopted Lady from Charming Pet Rescue one year ago, and she has been the best family dog. She’s sweet and even tempered and very well socialized- all due to the efforts of Hilary at Charming Pet Rescue. We love Lady so and are so grateful to her for uniting us with the perfect family pet!
Hilary is amazing. She really loves and cares for all the dogs she has. I rescued my pit from her and she is the sweetest dog ever. I still ask her questions to this day and she always responds. The dogs there are all friendly and sweet.
We found our amazing girl Kadence after a friend tagged me in a Charming Pet Rescue post. This sweet dog was an owner surrender who went through 5 homes before finding her forever home with us. Hilary was wonderful to work with, and you could tell she cared deeply about this dog. I can’t say enough about Charming Pet Rescue and the awesome work they do!
