Causes: Disaster Aid
Mission: It is the mission of the charlotte fire department auxiliary to support the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of members of the charlotte fire department, as they fulfill their commanded duty to minimize the risk of fire and other hazards to the citizens of charlotte. The charlotte fire department auxiliary will dually serve as an ancillary committed to assisting and educating the city of charlotte and surrounding communities by way of various volunteerism efforts; including charitable events, fundraisers, and educational forums.
Programs: On may 31, 2014, the annual pancake breakfast was held as both a fundraising event and a chance for the charlotte fire department to connect with the community through the use of educational giveaways for children and the presence of the city's fire trucks and fire personnel.
in addition to the auxiliary's own fundraising event, they also assisted with the 9/11 memorial stair climb. This event is held in september each year with participants climbing 110 stories in honor of those that lost their lives on 9/11. All funds raised at the event where donated by the hosting organization to families impacted by 9/11. The auxiliary did not receive any funds from the event.
in addition to the fundraising events, the auxiliary assisted in the organization of two events hosted by the charlotte fire department for the personnel and families of the department. In october, the third annual fall festival was held, which is a family day event. In march, the annual fireman's ball was held for the personnel of the fire department.
