The charlotte county family ymca, inc. Is dedicated to provide services that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Programs: Child development programs: our child care programs offer high quality child care activities for infant care, preschool and school age children from all segments of community. We offer a variety of state licensed childcare programs, both full and part-time, which provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can develop self-esteem, good values and an appreciation of charitable service. Woven into the fabric of the charlotte county family ymca mission is a commitment to strengthening families. We partner with our community agencies, such as united way, gulf coast foundation, early learning coalition, so that financial assistance is available for those who cannot afford to pay. In 2014, we served over 1,575 participants and provided financial assistance in the amount of 95,608.
health and well being for all: membership, program services, camps, youth sports, acquatics. The charlotte county family ymca views health holistically; a healthy person has unit of body, mind and spirit. Our ymca had indentified the growing national obesity rates in this country as a critical social issue that must be addressed and our health and well being programs are designed to help people develop new skills and grow in spirit, mind and body by setting realistic goals for self improvement and disease prevention through an active lifestyle, proper nutrition, stress management and health education. The charlotte county family ymca programs and camps promote interaction, teamwork and development of moral and ethical behavior, social skills and self esteem. We serve all ages, abilities, races, nationalities and religions. We provided fianancial assistance to those who need. In 2014, we served over 10,000 people in our community and provided financial assistance in the amount of 9,682.
